I also had a friend who had his own auto shop. He suggested me not to get Nissan if i wanted a long lasting car. Nissan Altima does look nice though. I don't know about you guys, but I would take Accord over Camry in a heartbeat. One thing that guy doesn't mention in the video above is that Accord has more horsepower. :P Why don't you go test driving all these cars and decide which one you like the best lol.

until last year, I would have recommended Toyota camry but now I suggest you not to buy Toyota camry unless you want to get a speeding Ticket. Why? Google Toyota Recall and find out.

Wait a bit if you can. Once Toyata fixes the problem, I suspect they'd be offering their cars on huge sales to make up for the loss. Or, they already might even have marked down the vehicles that were not subjected to the recall.

i don't know how newer altimas are doing...but when I had nissan altima, I saw two problems being very common in almost every year of altima models. I had 98 altima, manual about 100,000miles on it
1. the master/slave cylinder for clutch gets damaged faster than most available cars. It created problems in shifting gears specially going from 2 to 1 and vice versa. I don't know how applicable this would be in newer cars or even with automatic transmission.
2. the catalytic converters for altima are not good as compared to honda or toyota. If for any reason, your engine is running rich (either due to failing oxygen sensor, problems with injector or inefficient compression), the first thing that will go bad is the front catalytic converter which is not the case in honda or toyota. the exhaust will clog up, creating a back pressure to the engine and your engine is dead.
i would prefer to go for toyota over nissan and honda over both nissan and toyata.

I had the same question few months back and I end up buying Nissan Altima. I got both Camry and Accord in same price same but I chose for Altima. First of all, I like the features and model of Altima. I think all Altima, Accord and Camry are good. And there is no guarantee it will never break. See the recent issue with all Toyota... Toyota is recalling all its 09/10 models.... so anything is possible, its mechanical.... I didn't buy Accord because of the attitude of dealers... Just because Honda is good car whatever dealer I went do not even bother about the customer.... they think since Honda has good reputation people will anyhow buy it.... so I end up buying Altima.... and I am loving it... So far I am loving it.... only thing I heard from people about Nissan was its CVT transmission but now Nissan provide 10 years factory warranty on Transmission so no worries on it.... I hope this will help you making decision....
Do you always buy iron furniture or wood furniture??? compare honda as iron and nissan as wood.... he he he....

Get a Honda Accord. If not, then go for Camry. Hondas and Toyotas are the way to go.

Affordable, award winning and safe, these are the words that describe Toyota Camry. The Camry has earned lots of positive reviews. It might not be easy to find the Toyota Camry that you are searching for. But, dealers in Chicago can help you find the right vehicles for you. Dealerships can assist you in finding precisely what you need. Finding a Toyota Camry in Chicago does not have to be as difficult as it sounds though. Yeah brother get that toyota. The only thing the toyoto owners manual suggests is to check . That's it! Upto 120 K miles there is nothing to be done except check and drive....love it...

Well clutch master/slave cylinders are only there in ones with the manual transmission..For automatic transmission it's a totally different ball game. I think most of the nissans have CVT for transmission, which means seamless speed ratio change.
As far screwing up the cat converter goes,,it can happen with any car if the things like O2 sensors are not taken care of in time (Check Engine lights ignored) and the elements of converter made to overwork and subjected to emission particles beyond the design limits.
The technology has advanced by leaps and bounds in past few years,,it's hard to compare one brand with the other based on 10 year old model, when hyundais were considered as junk, KIA's were worthless. It's not same anymore that their 2.4 lit engine produces 200hp/6000rpm while toyota's and honda's rate at 175hp for same engine displacement. And yeah of course there was a time when GM, and Chevy were the best automobiles.
And yeah even the BMW's and Audi's start giving problems around 100,000 miles.
So go with what you wish,,and how your budget is.
