Basically you need the documents to provide the evidences that you are studying well and have enough financial sources. As far I remember when I sent documents to apply for wife, the required documents are 1. Original I-20 with your wife's CORRECT NAME as appear in the passport. 2. Letter from department and professor to demonstrate you are making progress towards the degree. 3. Do you have teachinh assistantship or research assistantship? if yes, request to include in the department letter or advisor's letter and amount. 4. Your recent transcript and course registration for the coming semester. 5. In I-20 if you do not have financial assistantship enough to cover the expenses after your wife gets here, you also need to include bank statement showing your personal asset to support her. From Nepal, 1. Application with copy of I-20, and all documents you sent. 2. Married certificate 3. Are you newly married?, she may also need to take few photoes taken with you. 4. If you have enough financial support, she does not need to show any other evidence in Nepal. I think these are all. Hope other friends add more if I missed something. Good luck.

First Good Luck ur wife...I have showed like $10,000.00 from US bank, from Nepal Rs 20 lakh, Property valuation like above 1 crore.......but I have one kid too...so, may be you can reduce these amount My professor gave me only the letter of assistantship. However, international office gave me one good invitation letter for my wife and kid. I have not used any marriage photographs since I had kid. and I think its good to keep them too. Marriage certificate, your visa photocopy. I haven't used any of my academic transcripts or docs since its not me there to apply....so its better to keep your's wife academic docs only. They asked what your husband is studying? why u want to go there? Will you study there? Once again good luck.

Asine sir, Thank you for your valuable suggestions. What could be the best answers to address their questions. For eg: whether my wife will study or not? ... and so forth...

Answers Kanchha-Dai gave to your questions are perfect. Just follow his suggestions. You don't need to show any financial document in Nepal if you have enough RA/TA stipend to support you and your wife. If your wife is applying for F2 visa, NO you don't need to show her academic transcripts and work experience. With her visa status (F2) she is not entitled to work or study in US legally so there is no point furnishing documents that show her work experience or academic background. I hope that helps. Good luck!
