Hi,

Do you guys know how to unlock a 3gs with 3.1 software running on it. I am sending my 3gs back home to Nepal, but don't know how to unlock it. If possible I would like to unlock it and install iOS 4. I googled for answers but they were very confusing. Please help. Thanks.

Summary: Currently, PwnageTool only works on previously jailbroken 3GS devices with the old bootrom. 

• If you have a Jailbroken iPhone 3GS with the OLD BOOTROM and you
  DID NOT use Spirit to jailbreak then you can create the ipsw with
  PwnageTool 4.0 and restore with your jailbroken recovery mode. 
• If you have an iPhone 3GS with the NEW BOOTROM this is NOT supported by PwnageTool 4.0 PwnageTool 4.01

First Jailbreak using spirit (use redsnow if you want 4.0 , or no need to upgrade to 4.0)

thanks guys but the phone is already on its way to nepal now...and it is stuck on emergency/connect to itunes screen (just called my friend, he is at the airport right now) and the video says that the phone should not be at this stage to be jailbroken by spirit. Any other thing that we can do.??

tell him to to use pwnage tool 4.01 to jailbreak and unlock it ...pwnage has been around for quite a while now and it provides the most reliable jailbreaks and unlocks given the time that it has been around..it should be pretty efficient

unlike blackrain you dont have to get youtube fix and wifi fix with pwnage
