If you are in america and have given out the SSN , DOB and BANK A/C than try to minimiza the effect of the problem. It was scam and you get lured into it .

No the govt. did not kidnapp ur friend, your fried took your 3K to go to his country and now he is enjoying there.
I like the line "transfer all amount in my account". First of all, to transfer to your account, all money should be transferred from his dad's account to his account which itself may take months for processing. and why would he transfer then to you when he got everything of his dad's account.

This kind of scams are there from last 15 years. Be careful of Nigerians. They are the most THUG in world. Though you said your friend to this guy, I guarantee you never met him.
