I came from using a iphone 3gs BTW. anyway, we can debate in a seperate thread fat boy :)
"can you tether yourself and use it as a wifi on your own phone. I want to use skype vooce on the go
rootef epic 4g"
- Yes. If you have root, you can download barnacle wifi tether(free), or just use tmobile's wifi hotspot app if that is available on your phone, or try "A WiFi Tether AP Mesh Client" app from appbrain.

Thanks for the reply. I use wireles tether with no problem on upto 5 devices. My question is whenever I try to make call on skype, I get a msg saying in united states you can make skype calls only over wi-fi. Can I dupe my phone into thinking that I am using wifi instead of 3g by using my own tether as wifi. I hope I make sense now. I haven't been able to do it so far

Using AXURA for last 6 months...simply the best...Samsung Vibrant (original, not 4G).
Best of Axura:
1. Get time to time firmwire update (started with 2.5.x.x and now using 2.3.x.x AXURA)
2. Wifi Calling
3. Sound Hound integrated in Music
4. Hoping to get Gingerbread very soon
5. So many...lol

3GS hmmmm???So I believe you havent got ur hands on i4 yet. You should try it sometime daju because I used to think the same a while back. Then I came across this amazing thing and my life got so much easier khalisisi daju. I don't have to worry abt gettting updated about what rest of the world's been upto, I hardly have to deal with the problems such irresponsive touchscreen and frequent crashes, I can access web while I m talking now and the list just goes on and on P.S I paid almost $$200 to get rid of an android fon ( Verizon ) and additional $$200 for this i4 and so far it's has proven to be a good investment

That is the main problem with iphone:
to get Iphone 4, you paid 400 bucks (200 + 200)
When iphone 5 will be out very soon, you will have to pay my be 500 bucks, and it goes on...
Iphone is one of the best phone in the market, but I am happy with my 3G android Also not worth moving to 4g spending such a huge amount...

Jobs says he knows what's best for the average Joe and made iphone the way it is (remember antenna issues?). It's really difficult to mess with their OS...Android, on the other side is open, let's you customize based on your needs! The only downside is the battery life..hardly can make a day..(
Fat beast, better start your own iphone thread! Sorry you don't belong here...and I totally appreciate your thoughts! People have different need and maybe iphone best suits you.

Sajha is pissing me off dropping my messages..lol
rebooting the android after a full charge helps me get 2-3 extra hours. Android prior to 2.2 will benefit from ATK and rooting to a AOSP will save battery tremendously.
Download Juicedefender from the market, and we wary of what runs on the background. Some apps will not let the android sleep so go query *#*#INFO#*#* and see what has been using your battery and how much time is being spend sleeping (there are other wasys to do this as well).
I had a nice write up before sajha ate my message .. sucks. Sorry :(

i have 4 email accaounts (fully sync) including gmail running all the time. I usually use blue tooth to call on my way to office and back home (each more than half an hour).
Use facebook (sync again) a lot, play games during lunch time.
Normal use otherwise...At the end of the day, my battery level is usually around 25-30%...not bad
ATK or similat apps really doesnot help. I use Task Manager to kill running apps, but I really don;t find them using much battery.
Display is the main battery killer.
Axura 2.3.1.3 (Froyo Based), Samsung Vibrant 3G

@LiveToRock - if you want devanagari font everywhere you have to replace /system/font/DroidSansFallback.ttf with the ttf font that has fonts mapped to devanagari character. Let me know if you need further details. There are some gps apps that do not require internet connection - copilot is one of my favorite. You will need around a GB of storage to store its maps. It's not free but if you spend some time in internet - you will get the maps from warez site ;)

I think a short write up on
"@LiveToRock - if you want devanagari font everywhere you have to replace /system/font/DroidSansFallback.ttf with the ttf font that has fonts mapped to devanagari character. Let me know if you need further details
"
this would help a lot of people.
As far as skype goes, its mediocre at the best on android, but I suggest you use tango. Anyone using CM7 Stable yet?
