Hello ppl,
I am looking for some students to build a wind turbine energy system together. We work together to make a system for each of us. This project will require some investment. You can sell your's or use it personally. I need for my own home use.
I just read a news here http://www.nepalitimes.com/issue/2010/12/17/Nation/17750 and it encouraged me to build one for myself.
reply to this thread if you are interested. I don't know how much it cost or what equipments we need, but together I believe we can figure it out.
thanks for reading.

what is the aim and scope of your work? I can do some design work, technical/eningeering details depending on the level of work you are aiming at. As far as getting / manufacturing parts to build one i dont know much. But if you are talking about some high school science project type of deal then i there is not much of technical knowledge involved in there.
Well it's cool that atleast you started the topic..I am interested in any kind of clean energy related effort..
I am not very sure about relevancy of wind energy in terms of expenses involved and the outcome in context of Nepal..esp in KTM,,since KTM is not a very windy city.

There are lots of things you got to know before you put a wind turbine. Well, if you are not really interested in even getting return of your investment but want to show that you are environmental friendly or say smart then you can buy all the turbine, tower, and all other necessary things to set up a 10 KW wind turbine for about US $ 30,000. If you want to have some people in Nepal working in machine labs build these things then I am pretty sure they can build a tower, blades and integrate a turbine and hook it up to your house for about 1-2 lakh nepali rupees. Anyways, if you want to dig little more into it, there is a software called RETScreen. Its an Excel based program and pretty simple to use if you know technical terms and its free. Google it and do your analysis on your own. Good Luck. I appreciate your initiation! Some engineering college students might be interested.
