It's really pitiful for me to see none of our strikers has scored a single goal yet so I hope Graham Roberts will make some adjustments on semi-final. I havent even see a single nice shot on the goal by strikers. Our defense and middfield is constantly serving the aerial ball to offense even though our strikers are realtively shorter than the defenders of other team. I am thinking the strategy of Roberts is "to fight for the ball in opponents zone and get rid from ours". If the intentsion is similar to that, I think it would be better to reconstruct the formation. We can just play with a lone striker and put extra man on field, more likely just behind the striker. My personal opinion: move the ball in midfield and attack from the wings and let Rohit Chand take some shots on goal.
p.s~ just want to remind the formation above will be using defenders on the midfield along the line too as a result left and right wingers can merge towards the center to fight for the ball when an aerial is fed.

I am. I think Anil Gurung would have made for a great starter. He is aggressive. Sandeep Rai seems to be a good marksman too. Is Rabin Shrestha out?

saathi i am watching all games though my finals are goin on...and yah i completely agree with u that nepal lacks the good strikers who can score. they take the ball so good but fails to attempt. as u said if rohit chand and bijay gurung are given chance they surely can give good results.

I know Anil Gurung is known to be aggressive but lately (SAFF) he hasnt even a single nice shot on target, forget about the goal. He could a good player but nor right now.
Bijay Gurung,Bharat Khawas have great dribbling techniquesand could be dangerous while Jagjit Shrestha looked techincal player to me. Most likely Rabin shrestha wont play tomorrow.
Let's cheer for Nepal guys!!

In my opinion it is just pointless...Nepal na ta world cup nai pugney ho na ta world cup nai jitney ho....in my life time i have probably seen nepal wil SAARC cup one time...and none of these teams have ever gotten closer to qualifying for the biggest stage. This will probably not happen for any of these countries ever, j garey pani in the end it's always going to be European or South American team that will be on the top. Baki sabai joker haru, pointless event khelne matra ho.

Such a shame that we lost, you don't win games without goalscoring striker.

I have played soccer all my life and one common I have seen is the scarcity of a good scorer. Like anon said you don't win games without a goalscoring striker, scoring a goal is what will advance you up although mid field (control) and defense are equally important. What most of us tend to forget is a good striker is a rare commodity and not something that can be easily replenished. To add to this rarirty, a good striker needs good support specially from his midfield.
So, I won't blame it on Nepali team. Just get better each time and keep up the spirit. You are one unifying thing amongst us all Nepalese.
Chaurey, games are played in various levels. If you stop caring about "low standard" game then you might as well quit playing your own game. Parents will quit going to kids game and varsity level games (except for few senior varsity games such as college football, basketball) will have no audience.
I cannot make you to start watching Nepali game, but we don't need to rip it off either. After all, like I said earlier, it is one thing that we all seem to agree upon. Athenian and Roman culture has shown that is one thing that binds citizens together: common enemy. War and Sports produce common enemy. This is the only event where I have seen all casts of Nepalese come together without political agenda and root for a common cause; only event where they all stand up when Saya thunga Fulka Haami starts playing.
At this time I just feel bad that the young lads didn't get the money and apartment they were suppose to get had they won the finals.

What I was scared, finally happened. I knew our offense would suck really bad and I was hoping to see some changes on the team. There were some but not enough. I am not trying to blame Graham Roberts, He did a tremendous job with Nepali team and I am proud of him and our team but something lacks inside me that wont let me past my disappointment. How could you freaking not score when you have so many chances? Our dreams to be is final was so near but it flew by. I dont know how these strikers score in Nepali club games. Not a single goal from any of the strikers in four games but 2 out of 3 goals from defenders. Thats why i was against the idea of putting two stikers up front. Roberts could have put one extra men on the mid field. Rohit Chand should have stepped forward long before Afghans scored.

I did woke up 4 am this morning to watch the Semifinal live, ofcourse no doubt that we all wanted to be in Finals. Been a long time that I haven't watched the Nepalese soccer team since cam to states 8 yrs ago. The only player that I had seen playing before in Nepal wa Bijay Grg and Sagar Thapa. I had heard Jumanu Rai, Santosh No 9 striker but I was kind of dissappointed to see our strikers. Ofcourse, strikers supposed to attack, have some good post charge, you gotta threat the opponent goal keeper.
Moreover, when Nepal get's a freekick more than 30 yards, it was not a good idea to drop the ball around the D as due to the Height advantage of Afghan's. Sometime they should find a player wide open and let him force to charge the ball outside from D. Just imagine how the Barcelona plays when they get a freekick outside 30 yards, or even in corner, they try to build up!!!!!
We can't say Nepal played good. Analyze, we just tied with Maldives, luckily won the game against the Bangla on that God gifted Freekick and the tied with pakistan. If we were really favourite, we would have won all 3 games in a league and then we could have said we are going for the FINALS!!!! Nepal always looses the game, so when instead of loosing, drawing a game is considered as a winning that is why we are saying we have been developed. Why the hell, it took us 12 years in this modern days to reach Semifinal.
I was glad to see that Nepal's Jersey no 15 Raju Tamang playing as I played with him in one local tournament in our hometown before I came to states.
Hope one day we will do better. I have a high aim that I will be making my kids a great soccer player!!!!!! Cheers Nepal, there are many things we gotta improve.

The first thing that Nepal as a team got to do is start a slow build up. It seems like they are always hurried and throwing the ball towards opponent D area rather than building up , get momentum thro' frequent passes and play around. You just can't think of making a goal by kicking the ball near others goal post and assume that by any chance striker would pick up and make a goal. Well that can happen 1 out of 50 passes and if the opponent defense is really good you wouldn't get any chance to put ball in the net. After watching all these games of Nepal after a decade or so , it looks like we are still lacking in so many things. Let's hope there will come a time when we really feel good about our team even we loss against some very good team and still say ' we tried our best but sometime it really doesn't work. '
