jogi brah!
screw mexico and canada.. sidha nepal gayera visa lida huncha... I went to Nepal after I completed my undergrad and the first year of my masters program. I went there this summer and enjoyed a lot. As you mentioned, I also did not have any savings when I went there. I successfully renewed my visa. I was also thinking of going to canda, but I didnt. If you are attending an accredited university, you should get a visa without any problem (unless its expensive as f..., and you're paying full tuition). And if you have an assistantship/scholarship, things will be even easier. Good Luck. have fun in Nepal!!!

I renewed mine at Mexico, the process was smooth but a little expensive. At the port of entry, the officer said "we recommend you getting renewed at your home country..." wasn't an issue but I still wouldnt recommend going to Nepal if your visa has already expired. I still had a valid visa when I renewed mine. Just sayinggg..!!!
