Rupas, thank you for sharing your query in sajha. I am sorry I was not able to respond sooner.
I wish I could give a straightforward answer but your question is like asking "Is the world still flat?" So the answer would be - when was the world ever flat?
"At that time, San had implied that he was hopeful from Maoists and indirectly supported Maoists."
I have never implied any support for any political party. Many people like yourself have drawn your own conclusions based on your own prejudices and that is only normal. I have said in the past that the Maoists came into power by winning in public polls which suggests that there are people who are hopeful that maoists will do a better job than the political party that lost in the polls. This statement was merely an observation of an outcome of a public poll.
Some people are so blinded by their prejudices that they take such simple thing out of context and accuse me of supporting the Maoists! You form prejudices based upon your own individual experiences and I can actually empathize with you because I am sure you have a good reason for your prejudices, if you are a sensible person.
There are also people who would gladly join the bandwagon and take upon the prejudices of others as their own if they can empathize with them. The fact is that there is no right thing to do. You choose your own path depending upon what you perceive and how your conscience is guided by your experience and your accrued intelligence.
As few others have pointed out, sajha is not like mysansar which is a blog where the blogger guides the topics he wants to address or impose upon his readers.
Sajha cannot be biased or discriminatory against any particular religion, political party, sex, creed or caste because sajha's sole goal is to have more free flowing discussions and to encourage everyone to openly argue and discuss their points without the apprehension of an over jealous admin shutting down their train of thoughts because of his own personal agenda. If I wanted to impose my own ideas then I would open a blog, not a open discussion forum.
If you glance through the discussions in sajha, you will see that sajha is open for all discussions that are not abusive in nature. If anything reaches a point of abuse as in excessive profanity or excessive propaganda such as using multiple usernames to promote one set of ideas, then action may be taken. But not otherwise. The banning that you have mentioned was due to one single person using multiple usernames to voice his concern, a propaganda against the Maoist. If the same person was doing the same thing to voice his concern, a propaganda against the king, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Newars, Bahuns, Tharus, Gays, or anything that separates us, I would have done the same thing but you probably wouldn't have noticed because,
you would only notice the thing that you have prejudice against.
We should not let our prejudice blind our perception of reality.
Instead of trying to find our differences, let's join hands in being
hopeful for humanity in Nepal in the days to come.
