Yeah, I heard few nepalese guys saying exactly the same thing you were saying, but I didn't buy that.
Am sorry I couldn't be of any help to you but, I said No when they're telling me to get into something like that.
May be someone will come up with more ideas.

Yeap Bro,
If you are willing to work with same client on your own and leave dhoties, then you should be fine having same resume but if you are looking to get a new client, then you can’t have the fake one because if your new client wants to go for background check, your dhoti consultancy, might not help you on that.
But there are more questions to answer this properly?
What’s your status? CPT, OPT, h1b or GC?
Working with Same client?? you mean full-time?

If you have to transfer your H1B then, you can’t have the old resume. When your company will file for your H1B transfer, then you will have to have legit resume and you have to make sure, they are okay with it. Dotis will not let you go just like that, make sure you are okay from them to transfer your H1B to your client. First start the process without them knowing it and tell them when everything is done and they will have to transfer it. But I don’t know how you are going to convince your client about your new/old resume, they might not like that, once they find out about your old resume.

If you have already built up a good working relation / reputation with the client that you are planning to transfer to then I dont think your resume should matter much. If your immediate bosses are willing to hire your based on what they know about you, then resume is there only for your H1B transfer I guess.

Yeap,
I was in the same situation.
I submitted my original while filing H1B from client. I had worked almost 2 years for theclient.
make sure you don't wantto submit any thing fake to USCIS..

There will be the extensive background check for the full time(99.9%) even if you are working for the same company. HR will do your background check to see if it matches your resume, your address, employment verification( tax filed.) Hope you get lucky.
