called at janakpur half haour back. good connection. i used budget card,gave me 26 min. it would give more for ktm. the site is sdicard.com. search for the card from calling usa to usa and it is listed there. costs 4.39+ .69 processing fee. good luk.

Budget Card don't work..It is a hoax

Just called nepal by kathmandu connect....it is working smoothly now....but I could not get the latest updates since my parents believed that the phone lines were tapped.

what is kathmandu connecT? what is the web address to get it?

Go to himtel.com and one of the cards available there is kathmandu connect...I had only purchased a 5 dollar card just to see if it works or not...and boy...it worked big time

Yes, international phone routes and internet have now been opened.

ALL mobile and UTL phones remained blocked, and will remain so for a while.

If using a calling card to call Nepal do not waste your time using a card with a low rate -- they won't work.

Try AT&T or any other card with a rate greater than 30 cents per minute.

phone line is on and life in nepal is normal.
i just talked at birgunj.

But, most probably there is no phone connection in eastern nepal. i tried dharan, birtamod, doesnot work.

Phew, finally talked to my Mom. Everyone is indeed happy with the news..My family is overjoyed because of this Peace! They start to like it like this!

Not only 30 cents cards are working but lower rates card are also working.
I tried KTM Best cards from Nepalisite.com had, and worked good.
Yes cell is not working.

I used himtel clean card, worked well.

today phone connection has been on for whole day except an hour in afternoon.
Usually phone used to be on from 8 am to 10 am and 12 midnight to 2 am.

if you dont get hold this time,try those phone hours. You should probably be successful. But kathmandu ko 2 bata suru hune number chai lagene mero, that was almost an hour ago.

hopefully we dont have curtail in communication any more.
