After the split up of Robin Dai and Looza, Robin Dai?s has not made that much impact in music field with The revolution. Their release album "ketaketi" by "Robin N The Revolution" was not that much success as was with "Robin N Looza" then. And one of the best song from album "Ketaketi" copied from Hindi song in blues style "Dum marooo dum..." was originally been created with Looza b4 split.. Looza's former band singer is in USA and former drummer is in Australia. Where as other band members they are involved in their own business and as well doing there degrees. Sunit(looza's Guitarist)) one of the best guitarist of Nepal...he does still play in one of bar in Thamel every Friday.

The Bar cum Resturant that they used to play was New Orleans, which is/was on the opposite left-side of Ktm guest House. Tom and Jerry pub and Jump is/was close for the reference. Rizu T. the bassist must busy playing soccer (pun intendede). But seriously, he used to play good in his childhood ( With the confederation cup, soccer fever is really catching up ). Talking about guitarist, this one guy called Sunil used to be a helluva guitarist back then. (Mind you not the one from lazimpat, althought he was good too). I still remember when "Looza" was opening ( this is long long tyam ago) for some Nepal's singers in Bhrikuti Mandap (Ramailo Mela) for among others "that guy who sang, ' Oh Amira! Love you forever and ever...," and one of the Looza's band member told me, "Hamle pani banauna lako cha ni yini haru ko opening ma." I was like OK. Ke naam? And he goes, 'Looza'. I think he told me it has some meaning in Newari. Little did I know they would be this big in Nepali scene. Too bad, economically, it is hard to sustain for the talented musicians. IndisGuise:)

There used to be couple of good late night parties back them, with booz and hash flowing in. Plently of nice crowd and some "Hare Rama Hare Krishna" people of caucasoids race ( Ah.. well more or less). Tyo mathi bata arko bar ma ni janu milthio ni. guys from Grasshooper used to have some nice shit eh? Hmmmmm... its been long tyam indeed. Om Shantiii. IndisGuise:)

We should try to bring them to US. I am tired of having just the boys bands of nepal singing love songs and dancing on the stage all the time. We need something different.

Yep Jump was cooll, but rather small though. "Chacha Tommy" must have reaped quite a lotsa dough, although the original owner was supposedly this another guy. Imagine, they even had audacity to charge people cover. Good lord gorgeous. For F**king JUMP? Haha. I never paid a penny though. One funny thing I remember of those lotsa nights are; the seemingly naive, but crookedly "chattu" guides and people in tourisim feilds used to be on the floor shaking or in the corners crooning with drop dead gor-geous female fatals to yore-her-egg-yielding-days. That is if some, ah.. well what the heck "most" of the Jet Lee's cousins; our very own mananges would leave any of them have their share of fun. Every night was an event in itself. Highfly, apparently we both are almost on the opposite side of the globe. Like Mechi and Mahakali; so to speak. My itenary for couple of days include my glorious responsibility to be 'bhairya' of my beautiful (Yeah rite!) superior in our journey to coulpa random states, far off from yours; for I-do-not-know-what. Anyways, somewhere down the time we shall catch up. Till then "Madira" shall not taste any less divine. Hoina? Haha. Aru tyai ho. Afno ta haal behal cha. Got to do some packing and shit sano tino. IndisGuise:)

Hahahaha kalankisthan...lol. Robin Dai was born in Hongkong and raised up in Canada. Even when they write Nepali lyrics they use to write in english first then translate in Nepali. I doubt Robin Dai can reads Nepali words. But hey Six strings...listen carefully to their lyrics...It does carries a deep meaning then just the regulars pop songs being played in market. Examples like "Nepal Nepal ..mero gulaf ko kadhaa", Sankaatkaal......., Maila bhai......., Bhete maile shivaji lai pashupatii jada and like on. Yea Highfly..Vicky is in Melbrone. Riju.. he is back home doing his degree and does his family bussiness though they do jamm up once in a while. Sunit (makka) he is the only one active as a musician right now , plays at one bar in Thamel mostly Fridays.Sharad(Pakka) he use to work in Yak and yetii..i guess he does still...haven't got his mail for while now. Prajwal later the drummer of Looza he works in some office(don't remember name) and is doing his graduation.U can still see Robin Dai(owns Bamboo club) and revolution playing in Bamboo club every wednesday and fridays. Indi bro the one u were talking about is i guess "Funky Buddha" My friends use to hang out a lot there..Hahahah yea a place for Shivaji, next to Bamboo club.Ya and Riju use to play pretty good soccer too.

Cannot understand Robin?s lyrics rey? Well, that?s ok. It?s a rock band, and in rock quite a lot of emphasis goes on music too, so not being able to follow lyrics is just fine. However, I have to admit that it took me a while to get used to their music, but very soon I realized that Robin sings much better than all the nepali bands that have tried to sing in English with their thick accent. And yes, their lyrics are way more meaningful than that of other nepali artists who just stick to love songs. And also the voice, he at least sounds manly, unlike, Dhiraj Rai, Nabin Bhattarai and many other male nepali singers. Overall, Robin N Looza or Robin and the new Revolution are different than the general nepali musician. That is vivid, in their music, their lyrics, and their attitude, and this has generated quite a lot of criticism as well as fans. Nepali music has become stagnant, and they are at least trying to change it.

Nepali pop songs were good when Om Bikram Bista, Kumar Basnet (Diunla) were taking it in some serious sense,,each song carried their individuality,,but now i cannot make one song from another,,every song potrays some girlish frustration,,maya maya,,feels like adding duita geda daya baya..that's it..all the songs based on some hypo girl,,yeah looza was a break in this trend,,the first time we jammed up with them i was kind of ohhh they were creative..yeah they are,,i guess there are more bands that could not come to limelight with guys that play no less than Dimebag Darrel or Satriani..but still i guess nepali listeners are not ready to digest it..well aafno aafno taste.. well i hope some day people will grow beyond the songs that carry maya maya,,kanchi,,gulaf,,jun tara,.,,

Hey Folks, I think someone need explaination regard to the "Pipe". Most musicians refer to the vocal cord as pipe. Sorry for any confusion there. Again, when I said I don't understand Robin's songs, I literally mean I don't understand single words he is singing...well single word is a bit exaggeration but you get the point. And musicially, Robin and Looza was not an out of ordinary band. I have seen lots of such bands, just didn't get famous like them. Again, that's just my opinion, no one has to agree with me. We ara all right in our own way. Peace SS
