I am curious, Most (if not all) boys are not virgins when they get married so is it fair to the girls that they (girls) remain virgins till they are married? And don't they want to experience their first encounter to be with a virgin guy too so they can share the experience and the joy of loosing their virginity togather? And in case it's the otherway around and if the guys is the virgin and the girl's not then does he look down upon the girl the rest of their lives or bring it up everytime they argue or vice versa. Either way I think the best experience is: A virgin should loose their virginity with a virgin. Peace out.

That's not true moneyminded I was a virgin when i married my husband and as Yomama said men are not virgin when they marry so according to that rule my husband was not. And I am totally ok with that, But the fact that he has been with other girl(s) physically (eeeww) keeps coming in the back of my mind every time we are intimate with each other.

This is very personal aspect and differ with person to person. Non of those rule exist. If one of those have not broken virginity, how come he/she know opposite is virgin or not? Experience counts!!!!

Moneyminded: That is a very 'stereotyped' talks of most Nepali guys. When they talk in public, they have to be so broadminded, they talk about being OK if their girls have had other relationships and if they have had sex before. But I know once they are in a relationship with a girl and kind of get serious then they would want to know what color or style of underwear she wears and give advice on how she should live every single minute of their life. They want to have the fun with the girls here (Nepali and others) and go home and marry the virgin types with full investigation on their history. Why can't you Nepali guys be little realistic when they put their public opinion and say what they feel. Why does it has to be so fake and so readymade.

manab, if u r being realist then u would not have made this statement "go home and marry the virgin types" 1. what makes you think that you will find "virgin types" back home? 2. when was the last time you have been home and assessed situation there? Its not 1996 dear home [ if I assume it to be nepal] is not what it used to be. II part: "But I know........" there is a problem with girls, by nature [ this may be my assesment due to my limited exposure but.. anyway I am willing 2 take a beating on this], they seem to be changing their requirements [ just like upper management of a company]. They do not know what they want. for example: if you ask them about their past "then u r prying/not trusting." If u do not then "its not caring and not trying to understand" etc.. etc... III part : " they want to have fun ....." i am sure it goes both way. Grls also have fun. u think that they are abstaining from "fun" !!!! if u think that then all i can say is hypocricy is brewing. Yes, in most cases guys are like that but being abroad from major portion of last decade, i have seen and met a lot of ppl who do not fall in ur stereotyped class.. ================================================== all in nostalgia but as always what do i know???? The thing is since the both ,"guy and girl" being virgins I guess their first sex would be a total mess for a very simple reason "total lack of experience". What if join a flight school at your university and you are told to fly a two seater trainer aircraft only to find out that the partner in your trainer aircraft is also a rookie instead of an experienced instructor. I guess probably things will not spin out of control if one of the two or both of the partners are not virgins.

The urge to have sex is in our instincts and so are the skills. The way you reach the rapture at the climax of sex might change but the intensity of the pleasure itself should remain unchanged. When a man and woman who are married to each other and are virgins first engage in an intercourse with each others' consent in full consciousness, they lead each other into an overwhelming divine experience which cannot be any less than 'mukti'. That is the only way to get a taste of nirvana while you are alive, and because of its connection with the divine world the sex between virgins used to be celebrated in the ancient times. That celebration is now called marriage. So, if you care for such ultimate joy then you should probably remain a virgin and marry one too. That would be marriage in the real sense which is consistent with its original norms-marriage of two souls that carry each other to a transcendental realm. So, in the ancient times when somebody would say 'they are married' that would mean they lead each other to the divine joy and thus, both of them would be respected as couples because of their allusions to the divine experience.

Thapap: For your information...i am a girl. i thought manab was a genderless name and i choose it because it does not belong to any gender. We are all same. Another thing is I do not care for the virgin stuff myself as long as the guy is honest and i am in love with him. Nothing would matter. But then i am aware of the stereotype Nepali men who like to go around with other girls, have fun with them but would do 'arranged marriage' in the end. Because they think those girls are innocent. there are men who do not even like girls who have studied abraod because they think they are not virgin or innocent anymore and relate the person as per their job position, etc. For example if the girl is doing in the job then she has some kind of relationship with her boss...etc. I am in States only since six months and have actually seen the corporate world of Nepal, and my explanation is based on my experience. But then these guys do not know that in reality, they need to be aware of those girls who their parents choose... i mean it is better to marry a smart girl who can be something than those lazy bumbs who are just waiting to be hitched....don't you think..

I am not curious whether my future wife will be virgin or not. Virginity, how do you check, whether the girl is virgin or not...? you can not check so why are you soo curious about that thing... rather than you should be worried about other things like whether u will be comfortable with her or not, is she is supportive and help you each and every step of your life.... GUYS wake up, you are in 21st century... I am not saying one should forget their TRADITION, CULTURE but time has been changed and even in BAGMATI Ma pani dherai pani bagisakyo.... so you can not bring that water back to the original place.. so why are you worried about those stuff, which you dont have any control.. what would you DO, if you found out your wife is not virgin ?? will you divorce her since she is not virgin? ""there are men who do not even like girls who have studied abraod because they think they are not virgin or innocent anymore and relate the person as per their job position, etc. For example if the girl is doing in the job then she has some kind of relationship with her boss...etc"" . but i think these are the people who thinks THOSE GRAPES ARE SOUR, not only men, i have seen women are talking the same stuff as well.. may be percentage wise men are more or may be sometimes its true.... but do you care about the VIRGINITY ???

manab, it does not matter whether u r a grl or guy. i did not assume u 2 b either when i responded. but fyi, "manab/manav" both are considered male names and for females its mostly ("manabi/manavi") . not that it makes any difference to me. anyway getting back to the discussion portion of it: yes, i would have to agree with you in that in private/public sector in Nepal, there might be lot of issues. I am sure in last six months you have observed a lot and have already started making judgement (o: but anyway personally i would like the type of grl u mentioned. who has been here worked and gone through difficulties of life. Question is how many have chosen an easy way out or struggled for real. but its tough in life [ 1 has 2 go thru lot of shit] [crash and burn][gather] ================================================ again in exhaustion and exasperation, once again what go i know??? But then who would chose an easy way out provided the opportunity and if it does not actually is too much of a compromise with the tradition/philosophy...whatever is important to the person. We all are humans.......unlike Thapap....who seem to be reaching his self actualization phase too early in life....
