ke cha nepali sathi ho
i am doing Masters in Computer in US currently. Now, to do the practical training/ work (called OPT) I have to sign a loan agreement with the University with the amount of 20,000 USD. They will not make my papers until I sign the loan paper.
Now, If I can be approved for H-1 B this year I am thinking of dropping this University. But, I heard that quota for this year has expired. I haven't finished my Masters yet to get the additional quota as well.
In this situation, maile ke garnu parla?
I want to work now but I don't have H-1B and I don't want to pay 20,000 USD
any other way-round to get the H-1B?
and when does the new filing for H-1B begin?
any help will be deeply appreciated.
thanks

It looks like the Master's Degree H-1Bs are still available, but will run out this month when a new batch of Master's graduates came out... Here is some very important information that you should read:

But why is your school asking you to pay $20K for the OPT? Doesn't make sense to me.

the advanced h1b quota is not reached yet. for more information you can check out - www.saugaat.com immigration links or - www.murthy.com

about the regular h1b, the cap was already reached in august for FY 2006 - http://www.computerworld.com/careertopics/careers/story/0,10801,103883,00.html

you may apply for next FY only after april 2006.

Dude,

Look for it right here and decide for yourself. No need to listen to the projections made by some law firm.
