They send my passport in over 2 months. First they lost it and then found it. They did post me once but later found that it was still in their office. I called them many times and I felt that I was unnecessarily worrying about my lost passport and I should never bother them. But finally I received a new one lasting for a decade. Happy moments. Kabin and his friends, Lets not get too carried about with this incident. It definitely was a loss, theres no denying that but to drag the embassy into this is a little too much. I feel a lot of people mourning. What I have been kinda astonished about is about another incident. Theres another person who is awaiting his death in Indonesia. Noone seems to care about him today. May be we are waiting for that final sad news and there's gonna be an ocean of condolences. All I ask is make some noise about this issue. I am sure you are someone in a position who can create some fuss about this or you know of someone who knows of someone ... Last I heard that Amnesty International was big into fighting for the human rights violations in Nepal. I have written a couple of emails to them (via their website) saying that this time a Nepali's life is going to be violated and I haven't heard a single response. May be they only want to poke their nose in something that makes headlines in major news magazines. May be Mr. Tamang is not worth their time. May be I am just wrong in my assumptions and I hope I am. Do something NOW. Make it a Christmas gift!

I feel bad about this guy in Indonesia. In a flip of the coin we should blame us and our government etc in Nepal first. Because we allow this kind of things in Nepal, it has come to a point where a foreign country is teaching a lesson to our folks. Why Gyane rather than Mr. Tamang does not fall into this jail is another question. I do feel sorry for the Nepali, but I do not believe that he cannot communicate well and he did not know it until he was caught. I know I'll face a lot of comments, but we should be teaching lessons to many many folks in Nepal in a similar way.

Indisguise, A short answer to your question is I dont know. What I do know is this is one of the most visited websites among Nepalese and there has to be at least one Nepali who knows. If you are a student, let the newspaper know about this. If you work for newspaper, write a piece about it. Let this incident come out. A life is a life and its not worth losing amidst confusion. May be Mr. Tamang did commit a crime, I dont think his crime deserves death. Heck, send him back to Nepal for good, that will be as good as him dying for the Indonesians. That will save them a bullet or whatever they use to kill convicts these days. All I am saying is people talk about a lot of crap here and if we dont unite and think constructively when a fellow brother's life is at stake, then shame on us, shame on the upbringing we all had and shame on that invisible bond that connects us all. Thats all. So help me out guys.

I am totally with you in this one. All I can think about is e-mailing those "I do not know where to spend my dollars" human rights organizations. What else can we do? Oh yeah, another suggestion to our fellow sajhaities is, if you have some Indonesian friend in you university, which is high probability, and if you do, perhaps they can consider writing or suggest writing to some media house or someone. Long shot eh’ , but it is a chance nonetheless. Just a thought. VincentBodega, why don't you post those email addresses for those organizations such that some of us can actuly use it. Also, our elite Sajhaities, with higher connection to these Amnesties, and other human rights orgs can raise a voice, just so that, you know, to see if something could be done. Garna sakdaina, huna sakdaina adi ityadi afno tham ma cha. Tara ekchoti try chai garnai parcha, afule sakcha bhane. Baki ke bhanne, sabai gyani nai chan. Tyai ho aba. IndisGuise.

Haramika Kalin It is very sad news of killing a Nepali Student in Arlington, TX; Kalu Pandey is deeply grieve with his family, this is unbearable loss to the Nepalese Communities. Kalu Pandey Personally extend its heartfelt condolence to the bereavement family back home and prays for the internal peace to the departed soul of late Mr. Regmi. The killer will pay the price of their gruesome act, when Texas Police Police found them, and then justice will be served. This is not time of pulling suruwal of each other, this the time of helping each other, showing compassion to the family of the deceased. Kalu Pandey closely watching what happening back home for instances, Nakarkot incident. As you know that Embassies are in the foreign country for helping its Citizens and to communicate the Policies to the Foreign Government, there are certain Protocol and etiquettes, which is compulsory to do Embassies jobs. While away from home Nepal Embassy is the only home for Nepalese Citizens, we should appreciate to the Royal Nepalese Embassy,in Washington DC, for its cooperation to the Nepalese Communities, no one can ignore the prompt response of Royal Nepalese Embassy, Kalu Pandey’s understanding is that Embassy constaly coordinating such incident back home Victims family, and with Police of Artilington, TX. We should know that even we can’t send acces of deceased with help of Embassy. Why don’t we learn to appreciate Royal Nepalese Embassy despite its limited resources?
