needs to be broken down into four subsections:
1. General discussion
2. Nepali politics
3. Poems/Stories and other such junk
4. Serious discussion/debate(American politics, gay rights, abortion, philosophy,anthropology, etc)


I am interested in no. 4. 1, 2 and 3 just don't interest me. What do you all think? As it stands right now, this board has been taken over by teenagers and khates, and it seems that the only way you can be heard is if you play the devil's advocate. Or am I on the wrong board?

I agree it becomes very stressful at times trying to find an interesting thread..

Well, guess I'll have to iggy this board. Back to democraticunderground.com. It gets frustrating after a while, when people start wishing "happy birthdays" to people you haven't even heard of. I've been on this board for almost 6 years, and it's been going on a downward spiral for a while. Cya later suckers. Try fixing this joint if possible. It's been taken over by juveniles (teens and juvies). I don't even understand why I visit this site. It's not really for me. Nothing challenging here. Sajha's been taken over by Nepalnews chatroom junkies, if you know what I mean.

The discussions that you want to be a part of can happen--if one takes the initiative of posting material---the problem is that some person is going to come along and try and send it in a downard spiral: the comments about one's caste, mother, sister etc..you know the drill...what I find funny and frustrating is that people fall for it and start commenting on the comment istead of ignoring it...and there goes the reasoned discussion...down the gutter :-)

I hate to say this, but, I don't think there are other sites that are much different...there are sites like Samudaya.org, but there too the regular types have an ego that is shockingly bloated and that gets in the way of discussions because everything is looked upon as a challenge to the other's immense knowledge...pseudo intellectuals apparently lack humour and the ability to take oneself less seriously

Blogdai (http://www.nepalnow.blogspot.com/) has some interesting views on Politics in Nepal, but they tend to be on the more conservative side for me (Left wing nut job liberal that I am :-))

...I guess my point is...I agree whole heartedly with what you say and I think there are times when a bit of trivial banter is necessary...but yes, what is it with the profusion of asinine sex threads on this forum?....hey, come on..I bet there are some on here that want discussions on issues you pointed to...stick around....comfort in number..maybe things will change?...if not...become the change..I'm sure you're up to the challenge :-)

I am just trying to ostracize myself from this board, to tell you the truth. As to threads relating to sex, I am one of those frequent posters(out of sheer boredom to tell you the truth, but mine are laced with sarcasm, coz those threads just tick me off). It's time to move on because there are a few things I have to do. This website is not exactly intellectually challenging and stimulating, and I feel like I have to hone my debating skills. There are some good sites for this purpose. I am a rabid liberal myself, and you know, I was just playing the devil's advocate with some of my whacked out "theories".

Hey Nepaali, I personally think you're the smartest person on this website(this coming from a supposedly "misogynistic" guy, as some have asserted). It'd be better for you to move out as well. What's the point of posting here. It's like I just woke up and had an epiphany--like what was I doing wasting my time on this board(and hours sometimes)? What have I achieved? Nada. Zilch. Bubkus. Has it really helped me mature? Hell no. If anything, it's done the exact opposite for me, and I make all these puerile threads with all the puerile drive that I don't even believe just to rile up individuals on this site,who by the way are really bad at debating. Another thing is that most people who post here are just kids. I rather read books and visit sites that stimulate my mind than post here. I was reading this one post by a guy on a different site. Damn, I really wished I could write like that. Simple yet so effective. Not even one big word.

fuc* the divisions or the catagories, it would complicate sajha and sajha would loose it's charm if we have to go to different sections in order to view new threads.
