I came to US on 2003. Finished my Undergrad on 2004. Since then I am working as an IT professional. Now its time to do something for parents. I am planning to invite my parents but have no idea how and from where to start with. What are the documents that we need to provide. I am currently on H1B and my Green Card is on process (I40). These are some of the list of documents that I am familiar with.

Employer letter (which states your salary, position)
Pay stub: 2
Bank Balance: (that I am not sure of)

Do the applicants also need to prepare any documents? Do I need to send my status papers? These could be the dumbest question.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You have to write an affidavit showing your intention to bear all the cost of accomodation, transportation, etc during their visit. In the same letter, you can mention your current immigration status. You don't need to show any other immigration related documents.

By the way, how did you finish your undergraduate within 1 year (2003-04)?

Well Regarding your question, I graduated from Ohio, got transferred 75 credits of TU BS Computer Science. So got it completed in 1 yr.

You need all three documents you have already listed including your bank statement.

Visit the site www.immihelp.com for the sample affidavit. You will find many other useful information at that site.

Your parents need to show certain documents that shows their tie to their home country (e.g., proof of property in Nepal, etc)
