Ten injured in clash between Dalit and ‘upper caste’ communities in Bajura
A violent clash between ‘upper caste’ and Dalit communities in the far-western district of Achham left at least nine people, mostly Dalits, wounded Saturday evening.
Reports said the scuffle flared up following a minor dispute between the upper caste and Dalit people in Sonali Atichour VDC-3 in the afternoon. A group of Brahmins and Chhetris then attacked Dalits, according to the National Dalit Network.

District president of the Network and few Dalit activists were injured in the clash. Dalits staged protest against the attack Sunday afternoon.

The incident is the latest in a series of violent confrontation between the Dalit and non-Dalits in the far-western region.

Few weeks earlier, non-Dalits had attacked a group of Dalits when they tried to enter into a temple for puja in Silgadhi of Dolit district, injuring 50 Dalits. nepalnews.com mk Oct 01 06

that means both upper class and lower class are at clash. so how does it prove that only bahun and chetrris are attacking poor dalits.

We'll say nepal will be developed in about 100 yrs time but that's unlikely coz we have the people out there who still don't want to see people have good life........

It is not shame on Bahun or Chettri or any other. It is the sham on the practice of religion, and culture that never taught Nepales how to practice INCLUSION.

And why shouldn't bahuns and cheetries be responsible for this? after all they beat up people for just trying to enter a temple. Neither hinduism , nor the law of Nepal gives them authority to attack Dalits. Cut the racist, don't judge, no steriotype - hypocricy craps. Bottom line is those bahuns and chhetries who beat up the poor dalits should be held responsible, and brought under the fair justice.

i have seen such dalit and uppercast war in just a dhotis movie,
but i was suprise to see real news in nepal wowwww
in movies it is shown that such wars are always started by ministers, i want to know if it is true that there is some minister behind such things...........

Dalits and minorities always feel oppression. Upper castes always think that they are superior. We have to live with this until Hinduism modifies and people get more educated. Law and order has no value in Nepal.

Let all Hindus enter the temples if they wish but stop fugging muslims and christians (including those converts) from entering temples.

Letting others to enter your house is your choice, though.
