In a very interesting turn of events the court of Iraq has sentenced Saddam Hussein to death by hanging. It was what the man deserved but do you think this will help in abating the violence in Iraq ?

Well sooner or later there will be civil war in Iraq and the sentencing obviously will not help. US needs to get the hell up out of there before the civil war starts other wise the US is screwed economy wise and there is going to be a draft.

I don't believe in death penalties. We should not forget that the people who made Saddam Hussein are still ruling the world and creating chaos all around in the name of spreading democracy.

People talk about Saddham killing all those people but hey..how about all those who were shot by Americans in Iraq? Does that involve similar human emotions? Did it give rise to many more women and children without their head of the house? Freaking HYPOs...Bush deserves the same...he ruined the life of all the Iraqi people..they had relatively more peaceful and prosperous time during the autocrat.

It may sound fair that Saddam Hussein is being sentenced to death for the murder of about 165 people who plotted his massacre or somehow involved in the incident. But, how about the one who invaded Iraq with different pupose(nuclear arms...,which was never proved),destroyed Iraq, and killed around 600000(rough data?,or what has been estimated)Iraqi people? What is going on there is "bhai fute gawar lute".No matter what the differences among Iraqis were,it was a country, a united country holding Kurds,Sunnis and Shiite together under one flag. Now,it seems it is going to be splitted or ended up with civil war.Is this what they(Iraqis) expected from the one who claims to be the so-called "police"of the world? And this so-called 'police' absolutely is bias in favor of inhumanity;whatever it does, reflects its own interests and benifits. If it is really a fair police, why doesn't it take action against many other tyrants in the world? One example,Bhutanese king wangchuk who has allegedly killed many Nepalese-origin people, and ousted the remaining from the country for past 1.5 decade? Bottomline: hanging Saddam is never a solution to Iraqi problem. This is NOT a fair game.It may provoke the worst things to happen in future.Either it would lead to civil war or division of the country. This is an another disaster to Iraqis.

the news that saddam is being sentenced to the death did not come much as a suprise than the timing of the event. Saddam was captured on Sunday, December 14, 2003, and it has been almost 3 years since that event, that is enough time to sentence that murderer. Now that the election looming and GOP is lagging in the race primarily because of the situation in Iraq, there is more than a coincidence of the timing of the sentence.
