Anybody knows how long does it take to change the status from F2 to F1 and what would be the process?

F2 is dependent Visa so first of all you should be accepted from a school. Then contact to school's international student advisor for the process. They will do everything and you have to pay some charges (I think it is $250.00). I think it will take somewhere between 2 to 5 months. One of my friend's wife got it in 2 and half month.

Cheers,
