I have arrived in Nepal this Monday. Guess what, the day after I arrived I heard a very bad news.
My brother (Fupu ko chora) and his wife (Bhauju) who had married this summer, were sleeping; in the middle of the night my brother heard someone entering the property. He then heard them climbing the stairs, then Dai started yelling “Choor; Choorâ€. Bhauju woke up by the loud “BANG†“BANG†Sound which was the sound of them smashing the lock of the door both on the top and the bottem. It took them 1 minute to enter the room and stand next to them with a really large and shiny Khukuris, which was in the position to strike them at once. They told them that If they stay quiet they will live, if they make noise, then they will cut then in to halves. There were 4 of them, all carrying a Khukuri, they were Tamang, gurung of cast.
They asked my Dai and bhauju if they were the land lords. My Dai showed them where the landlord lived, which was just next to them on the other house which was attached to the same house. Apparently they were planning to rob the landlord who was a millionaire of that area and ran finance from his house, so he always had millions at his house.
But these Robbers thought that my Dai was his son. So they started searching every thing every where, Took all the gold and money. They checked my Dai and Bhauju’s body if they had any gold on them.
Every one had heard my brother but no one did any thing, not even use the mobile and called the police. These 4 robbers were there for more then half an hour.
Amazing that people of Nepal don’t even help their neighbour in need. If people don’t even help each other in this situation, then when will Nepal develop, and peace will never come. And security will always be an issue.
Bhauju is still chocked and crying, she cannot even go to the toilet alone even in the day time where house is filled with men.
Otherwise it is really great to be back to Nepal. Just today I realized that it is Saturday, I just feel that I just arrived yesterday.
Well Nepali politics. One phrage: “Jun jogi aaye pani kanai chirekoâ€
