How long does it normally take to get a green card for those who falls under EB3 category and is a Nepalese citizen?

I talked to my lawyer and he told me that it would take 5 years for EB3. It is abt 6 years for Indian and Chinese citizen. He should me a schedule from the USCIS for EB3 prof. workers.

UJJshresth, how do u know it is 3 years, is it your own experience? could you please elaborate on that. Coz I would be so happy if it were true. I cannot wait for 5 more years!!

XX-Nepal is right. It takes about 5years for Nepali going through EB3. But EB2 fast , sometimes it takes less than a year.

It all depends on how USCIS and state department will handel all EB3 cases. Remember that election is coming near and there are lots of issues related to illegal and legal immigrants. There are other issues such as H1B quota etc.

What happens if I file GC under EB3 category now, and get my masters degree in a couple of years?
Can I do anything to expedite the process after I receive my degree because I will then fall under EB2 category, or is it like once you file it under whatever category it is, there is nothing you can do but wait?
Any one had a similar experience in the past?

Actually to apply in EB2, your job should require Masters degree or 5 years plus experience. It does not matter whether you have masters degree or not.

I m realy dissapointed to know about time frame for EB3 catagory. Its almost impossible to wait for 5 yrs.
