  Hello, guys

 anyone good in maths- can u please help in  solving these two separate equations for x. In each equations( 1 and 2), the only unknown is x, all others are known and constants. can u find solution for x in terms of given constants.

Your help greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks for the reply.

Oh here is some misunderstanding. sorry for that, those so called constants may have any value- in fact should say independent variables and x is the dependent variable. So the problem is Find relationhsip of x in terms of those variables, a general case. and Once we get a solution of x in terms of other variable, we can find x at any set of values of others.

I dont know what has been wrong to the equation. My solver template didnt work too. I tried but couldnt get the answer. May be you have to get a value of x from one equation, substitute in next and get answer.

these two equations are independent(two separate questions). Nothing to do with each other. Forget abt the second one, if u r doing first one, vice versa.

Needed for project work!

hey aashkta
why don't you differentiate the equation, i m talking about eqn 1 wrt x........................
the RHS should be a zero then if tb2 is a constant...............and try solving it
use the properties of ln...............while differentiating...............example d/dx(lnx)= 1/x

the equation would look like

-cx +b1-m + d/dx[(ms+mx){ln(s+x)-ln(x)}] = 0

now try solving it.............hope it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have to use Lambert W function, I can tell you that. If anyone has patience to actually solve then
is a good practice I think. I will have a go if i have time.
