India’s duality?
BJP questions India’s Nepal policy
India’s Nepal policy is more guided by the appeasement of Maoists at the cost of pro-democracy forces ignoring its implications on India’s security, according to Bharatiya Janata Party leader and its Prime Ministerial candidate for the next general election, LK Advani. Advani’s categorical disapproval of the government of India’s Nepal policy, comes in the background of interim parliament adopting the resolution declaring Nepal a Republic state, with the directive to the future constituent assembly to implement it. Advani said BJP was clearly in favour of preservation of Nepal as a Hindu Kingdom with constitutional monarchy. He said the genuine aspirations of the people of Nepal like its Hindu identity and constitutional monarchy were suppressed by the rise of Maoists. “Maoism and democracy are a contradiction in terms. The two cannot go together. It is unfortunate that they have gained ascendancy in the polity of Nepal,” Advani said recently in a paper ‘Democracy and Conflict Resolution in Asia’ which he read out during a summit organised by Dainik Jagaran, a popular Hindi daily, last week. Describing what has been happening in India’s north as ‘worrisome developments in Nepal’, Advani said what has been happening in Nepal have grave implications not only for Nepal, but also for India given the close nexus between Maoists on both sides of the border. “The Prime Minister (Man Mohan Singh) is right in characterising communist extremism or Naxalism as the biggest threat to India’s internal security. It is also a threat to our democracy.” “Why then has the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government remained a silent onlooker with communists in India playing the role of a colluder, when constitutional monarchy was disbanded recently under the pressure of Maoists? The monarchy in Nepal was a symbol of its unique national identity and a source of its identity,” he continued. This is first time that a major political party in India questions its own government’s policy that has virtually abandoned the twin pillar theory, after it mediated a deal between Nepal’s pro-democracy parties and the Maoists in November 2005. This also literally challenges the Indian government to clarify, if its approach on Nepali Maoists and the Indian Maoists are different. Singh had recently stated in the context of Naxalite problem that ‘the virus of terrorism’ needed to be eliminated for consolidation of democracy and developmental activities. “Why did the Indian communists applaud when the identity of Nepal as a Hindu kingdom was erased even before the constituent assembly had discussed it? Would they demand that Pakistan or Bangladesh cease to be Islamic republics?” he asked. “The examples of Israel-Palestine, Afghanistan and Nepal raise two important questions: should India and other countries in Asia get entrapped in the western sponsored normative discourse on Asia’s political evolution, or should we imbibe from our traditional values and norms? The former path is likely to ensure that we become the playthings of external powers seeking to shoot guns off our shoulders,” said Advani.

Its non of the business of Indians or any other foreign countries to say that Nepal needs a monarchy or not. If Advani or BJP party do cares about Hinduism and Monarchy, why didn't they declare India as Hindu Kingdom while they were in power? Why didn't they return the sovereignty of many former principalities of India and restored monarchies there? Its funny when a top ranking leader of a Secular Country advocates Hinduism for a neighboring country.
Indians have nothing to do with monarchy or republicanism in Nepal. I congress and its alliance tend to be favoring the abolition of monarchy in Nepal where as BJP and its Hindu Alliance want to see the continuity of monarchy and both of these are the two faces of a single coin and one and only one interest for them is to destabilize and take Nepal fully under their control. So, neither monarchist should be happy when Advani says something in their favor nor parties should be happy for the support they are getting from I Congress and its allies.

About Hinduism: Shankaracharya (the highest authority of Hinduism) has decleared that the King of Nepal is the last Hindu monarch so unofficially for paper work (also officially in Hinduism) he is the king for all Hindus around the world. That makes him King of India as well. Again: Indians have nothing to do with monarchy or republicanism in Nepal. I would rather take my chance with Advani (who knows Nepal) then a Christian Party president and a Sardar PM who don't give a damn about Nepal. They are trying to hurt us and will succeed if we dont stop them.
I do agree to what you say, but as of today Indian Intelligence has deeply infiltrated Nepal and is working with Congress and maosts alike (using them, buying them, threating them). I personally know a few of them and they were posed in Punch (Pakistan border) and Phinsoling (Bhutan border) before being posted in Nepal. Look at Pakistan and Bhutan today!!! Being a nationalist, I dont want that in Nepal. We cannot submit to foregin powers. Thats why I choose the Monarch. And yeah, if BJP wins a clear majority in India they will declare it as a Hindu nation.

Another throw another eyewash...dont let him go easily as someone in favor of Monarch in Nepal
When Advani was home minister maoist had access to everything in India- shelter, supply and stratagem, and by virtue of which maoist could protract war against Nepal Army so long. On record Chakra Bastola has stated that he accompanied GP Koirala when they went to New Delhi to meet Prachanda and other maoists, and the mediator of that meeting was none other than Gerorge Farnades, then Defense Minister of India. That meeting was held at that when most of the maoists were Interpol wanted fugitive....
so dont forget the deadly duo.......dont forget them so easily
LK Advani' newfound love for the Monarchy of Nepal can be identified with the fact that soft Hindutwa, which succeeded recently in Gujarat state, is likely to be his party’s mantra for the next general election too. Campaign for Hindutwa, like before, is expected to carry out by those staunch Hindu cadres who have a soft corner for the King of Nepal also, but most of whom are unhappy with the situation there in Nepal and their unhappiness is largely related with the insecure position the King has there now. So, in order to win confidence of the Hindu cadres, Advani, approved prime ministerial candidate of the opposition, wont miss any opportunity to speak in favor of anything that will or can help to sit on that chair.

That is true and we need to take advantage of that, just the way they did it. Advani cannot say no to Monarch and we cannot stand Maoists. And politicians on either side cannot be trusted.

Neither Maoist not the recent congressmen has the right to declare republican nation. Let’s put this agenda along with CA and do as the outcome is. I do not agree either Prachand or Girija, people should be given a chance to choose it.

That's right they (SPAM) don't have the right to declare republic., people should be given a chance., These cowards are afraid to face the people., they are into dirty drama to fool the people so that they can hang on to power., CA is a total drama.., by the people but not for the people..,
