for Nursing programs at community colleges there are:
North Lake College, Brook Haven college, and El Centro College in the Dallas County Community College District. These colleges are close to Irving. North Lake is in Irving. Besides these colleges, there are other community colleges that offer Nursing programs and might be less competetive than these listed above. Such colleges are: Tarrant County College (about 20-30 mins from Irving); Collin County Community College (about 30 mins to 45 mins from Irving); and Navaro County College (about 1 hour to 1 and half hour from Irving). \
If you maintain a good GPA, let's say 3.5 or higher at any community colleges, which is not that hard, you can get accepted into a Nursing program at a 4 year college/university on a scholarship. Such universities are:
University of Texas at Arlington (UTA)
University of Texas at Dallas (UTD)
University of North TX (UNT)
Texas Woman's University (TWU)
All the best to you.

For you North Lake will be better and near. If not El Centro is not fat and you can ride TRE or bus there for free.
