Guys,
have you encounter this question by south india specially people from india (south), pakisata and afganistan.

I met one south india guy from andra pradesh and asked me "Nepal is part of india right?"
I say yes and asked him, I never been to india but its part of Pakistan right !"

He got so mad. He shouted on me and says "No, never but pakistan was part of India".
I told him, "Oh, someone told me that mugals were from pakistan and they took control of india and still is part of Pakistan"

He got so mad and I can see his face. I was smiling and I told him, "Dude, think twice before you speak. Read the history. Nepal was independent in the past and independent now too. did you fee how much it hurts? Then he says sorry at the end.

Next time I met a guy from Afghanistan. He never likes indian becasue indian has nothing to eat other then roti and daal. I felt what type of person this is. Who don't have enough to eat and india donated million ton to Afghanistan. He asked me where I was from and told him I am from Nepal and he told me it’s a part of Inida.

I got so mad but i control myself. I told him Afganistan is part of pakistan right. He got so mad like Inidan guy. I repeat the same answer and he was cool.

Another incident with Pakistani guy, He easily told me nepal is part of India and I say yes and told him that Pakistan is part of India.

He was so mad. Really really mad then previous tow guys. No, we are free county, we have our own places. WE build places, bombs bla bla bla........ I told him same answer what i did for indian. Later he say sorry.

Have you guys ever encountered similar situation? I have met other people from europe, america but I am ok with them. They have little knowledge of outside. But those our neighbors don't know the status of Nepal. Share on those people.

one day in our team meeting, an south indian guy said " Mt. Everest belong to india and its in border of india and nepal".
Me: " If so, Temperature of Mt everest would be 120 F..jeez i didn't know mt everest is so hot.. coz it lies on south of Nepal right" ..hahaa.that guy have no idea where his country lies actually...
all i wana say is, its good to be proud of your country but fake proud..hun..that makes you stupid...

There are bunch of Indians where I work.  I don't know, don't care to and don't have to meet 95% of them.  Among the rest, most are very nice, not that different than my colleagues of other races.  But then, there are one or two who tend to get on my nerves with asinine comments as you said above.  Well, granted that they might just be pulling my leg, but I'd like to respond with wit rather than anger.

When somebody says Nepal is part of India, I normally say whether he got a fake degree from Bihaar because he does not know such a simple geographical/political fact.  Then I go on to challenge them whether they have fake resume and even fake immigration documents, yadda yadda yadda.  Finally, when it reaches a point where they begin to wonder if I am joking or being serious, I just put a big smile on my face and say I was just kidding.

Next time they say Nepal is part of India, I tell them not to get me started again.  They just shut up after that.

Not quite like the issue discussed but quite similar. Many of us may have encountered this..an American or a European asking you this question: "Are you from India?"

Well, a good friend of mine gets so mad when some white fella asks him this question ( most of us get mad when people think we are Indian). So when his white co worker once asked him " Are You from India?". He responded " NO. Are you?"

 

 

i feel really sorry tht we nepalese have similar accents like indias(exclude south). so usually, amricans think we are from india. My natural responses actually vary depending on the type of conversation i am having with the other person. usually i go like

WHY!!! [with very offended tone]and they just apologize.

"huh!! are you?"

i dont understand what this topic about..has anyone heard that nepal is a part of india..bullshit...dont talk about your tailor made story....everyone even foreigner knows that nepal is of its own..
