Hello Guys. My spouse is here in USA in H4 status. I want her to get at least state ID from VA. But DMV is asking for two forms of ID. I have only one i.e. Passport. she does not go to college and not allowed to work. So I can not make another id for her here. According to DMV her birth of certificate from Nepal ( in English and notarized) can work but I don't have that. I was wondering if anybody has faced this problem and solved it ?? Please share your experience.....

Do you have a marriage certificate? If you have one I think it would work. Lali

Hi, I too am in H4 and arrived VA 2 months back. I managed to take learners permit. In addition to my passport i submitted appartment lease agreement in which my name was mentioned too... so i was easily permitted to sit for the exam, hope this will help you too.. coz you too are applying in the same state ie VA. And while applying for Learners permit for your spouse they need your passport and original I-797 too. cheers and have a safe driving.
