As far as I am concerned Taylor Swift is a pop-song writer/entertainer with an appreciable fanbase. If individuals within that base still listen to her songs years and decades from now, she would be a bona-fide artist in my books otherwise she is only a star unlike Tracy Chapman who is an artist.
Having said that, it's imprudent of her to risk the goodwill she commands from her "fans" and their families by endorsing one of the most controversial Presidential candidates ever - "Chamelea" Har-ris.
