The Swiss government has clarified that the late King Birendra and his family do not hold any bank account or other property under their name in Switzerland.

Information to this end was received from the Swiss government through its Embassy in response to a request made by the Government of Nepal, Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) said quoting spokesperson of the Nepal Trust Office, Sharad Raj Bista.

The Trust had been investigating the properly ownerships of former royalties along with their bank accounts.

Speaking at the regular press meet held at the Ministry of Information and Communications on Monday, Bista also said the Trust was mulling over investment in the education and health sector.

The Trust that manages the property previously owned by the Royal family and now transferred into the state ownership is currently making a annual income of Rs. 46.21 million. nepalnews.com

i am pretty sure swiss bank account is in the name of Pamfa Devi or may be Gaynendra has it in different name. I will surely say they have money in billions of dollars or even in trillions. They are not going to find anything after 10 years. What a joke. I am surprised that Gyanendra hasn't left for some nice island and having an enjoyable retired life. Paras is doing the right thing enjoying his money.

They probably have millions of dollars stashed away in investments and other assets. Does anyone know Gyanendra's net worth? One of their relatives mentioned that they used to have boxes full of gold and diamonds. I don't think those are even being valuated.

that is what i am saying, we nepali people know that the money is there, but like in fiction movie, nobody knows where it is, but it is there somewhere.

1st of all the Swiss Banks do ot disclose personal info.  http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-10-24/swiss-banks-said-ready-to-pay-billions-disclose-customer-names.html.  The only exceptions they make are criminal investigations(Birendra was no criminal). So for them to acknowledge whether it exists, I personally think is a hoax. They don't even give out names of the millionaires and billionaires to US govt. you think they would respond to Nepali Govt. ? lol !! This could be a move by Mr Bista to show off LOOK WHAT I DID FOR OUR COUNTRY !!
