Dear friends, the fault lies with us, our nepalese leaders. No use blaming india all the time. And sikkim is a happy place, i have been there. They live as proud indians.

@nalapani

I did not see anyone complain and i did spend time there. Anyways, my point is that, I always see Sikkim brought up, but the sikkim people themselves never have brought this up about being invaded by India. I am not saying what India did was right, i am just saying Sikkim seems to be content with what happened.

So i guess, a Sikkim person should answer the identity question. :) Bro, i am not undermining the questions you are raising. They are perfectly valid and i support you. I do not blame India one bit. When SSB rapes our sisters, and occupies our land, I blame our Army and police. Bro, it is high time we admit, the problem was never India. It is actually our leaders who sell Nepal.

Recently many bangladeshis were also caught with nepalese passports. IT seems some minister is getting rich by selling nepalese citizenship as these things cannot happen without some minister's approval. They charge a few lakhs for the passport.

I am not a royalist, but since the king went, things have just gone downhill for Nepal. This is the worst times for Nepali nationality.

Do you guys have any plan that wud help us  or u just blame each other like [Disallowed String for - bad word]in retard politicians? guys do u really get satisfied by tht?  I know we cant stop them but is thr any idea tht wud help them discourage? If we make people aware Wud that discourage? Indian government is bawaal re okay i agree but how abt those black ass dhotis? cant we discourage them wht they r doing? is it so easy to dominate nepalese like tht? lets think abt tht n pls lets not look back n blame each other, lets see forward n lets do some brainstorm wht would be helpful n we can pass these ideas to Nepal n our brother n sisters, our parents would know whts happening. how abt tht? i might be too much worried but isnt it a matter of worry? think abt it.

@greenzerk bro,

yes the problems are worrying, but there is little we can do. The politicians are chosen by the people and they rule. They are willing to do anything for the chair. If anything, we citizens can choose a good leader who is patriotic, but who shall we choose?.

Your choice is as good as mine. Mohan Baidya talks nice but i am sure he is also same like other once he gets the chair. So maybe bring in the king again?. All NEpalis should vote for a patriotic leader then these problems will be solved. I would give my vote to the king, not necessarily because he is good, but he will do something patriotic at least. And the Army should rule for the time being.

More than anything, Nepal needs a patriotic leader at present.

This is not new ,it already happend when they issue citizenship to bunch of biharis and bangladeshis who crossed the border not long ago ,reason is the madeshi leaders support this idea coz they will be the one getting their votes  and another reason our government is a joke.

@freedom bro,
India used King Tribhuwan and Nepal too much, So King Mahendra started to introduce China card to check n balance Indian bully.
Birendra tried continued support it and was in a campaign of  making nepal peace zone so that no one could touch nepal but indians killed Birendra So his plan was unsuccesful. King Gyanedra tried to bring China to the SAARC and he was thrown as he did not surrender to india. They love the soil, they die for it as King Birendra did. So if we get King back that would be better.

Recently chinese ambassador has been pulled off before his tenure was over(that means china is serious) and replacing him with the expert in external security. Indian Nepal chhirnu bhaneko Tibet ma problem ho , China chup chhaina it is doing its thing, we just have some patience, lets see how how the political course develops.
So In my opinion(i might be wrong), Chinese counter part once comes into play, things shud get better. I am just waiting china to do sth.

aba monarchy farkyo bhane feri arko babbal hunchha, tesaile i m like not in so much favor of it right now, kati violence herne yo deshle?

Maobaadi is also not really listening to India these days becasue Nepal has become a playground for everyone US, EU India is not the only player in this context, we have to understand this very clearly, So the opinion like "India gets whatever it wants it" is wrong. India also has lot of problem of communist now (probably the same fire they used to burn Nepal is also burning them i guess.) if you burn ur neighbors' home then it will catch ur home as well. Now look at poverty in bihar, communism is spreading like uncontrollable weeds.

There is a question, today we have Nepal as a playground, there r some forces who wants to spread this playground to Tibet. but what if we could shift this playground to Bihar? Who knows? Do you remember we used to solve the equation? this is one of the politics. I also  dont see it fair to  blame politicians always becasue whatever we have is them, we dont deserve barack obama.

Lets see how it goes.

Some patriots might not like what i  am about to say but the above feelings came from the 5% in me who thinks like a Nepali. The other 95% of me does not really care whether Nepal goes to India or China or USA. Once my understanding of life changed, my questions and priorities have also changed. The 95% of me lives by the rules below,

1) Land belongs to noone. Boundaries were set by men not God.

2) Live and let live. You be happy, let others be happy. Give freedom to be happy. Everyone has the right to be happy.

3) Do not be a burden to mother Earth.

4) I am a global citizen, the universe belongs to all of us.

5) Do unto others as you want others to do unto you.

Freedom I agree with everything you said in addition to one more point.

6) Do not preach religion. If you preach you are assuming others are stupider than you to figure out what they want by themselves.

People are free to preach. People are free to listen. Rather it should be "Do not impose your religion on me." As i live in a country where Xmas is their public holiday, no problems in listening to their story.

When groups come knocking to my house, i politely smile and decline and they go away. I have listened a few times. I do not see anything wrong in preaching. I have shared good things about hinduism with christian colleagues also.

All religions have something good that one can learn from.

I agree with freedom. I may be missing out on the background but from what i know, why and who would want to become Nepali citizen? I am sorry is Nepal like the new US or west? why in the world would Indians and Bengalis want to buy nepali citizenship when i think their countres are in better shape when comparring to Nepal? or am i wrong in saying that? or do they want to experience suffering like the rest of the impoverished Nepalese? You guys can put a lipstick on a pig all you want but the truth in my opinion is that Nepal is shit hole when it comes to politics, public mentality, religion, basic needs etc. forget about natural beauty and what nots those are not even priority anymore. I am thakful not to be there and have to suffer the way people are suffering there and not even acknowledge it, it's as if that suffering has become a way of life ....every little work that needs to be done requires bribe or some mantri ko power is just a small example....

so fellow patriots i applaud you all but i was once in your shoes...it took a lot for me to realize and accept that i was in denial about the country that was.

@chaurey
I dont have anything to say on that part what u believe on. But actually for the stuff u claim tht none wants to be citizen of nepal . u might not be just right.
Lot of South Asians (not only Bengalis and indians) get Passport from nepal since they get visa to Arab Countries cause Nepalese workers r in high demand in the Gulf Countries(thr is reason for tht but i dun wanna go thr now, it can be a separate thread.)

Also indians come to US with Nepalese citizenship/passport, they get green card easily, we cannot ignore this thing because we know it.

For ur idea of not going back to Nepal, thr is no right answer. It depends on you n your surroundings. If most of the people in ur surrounding is so proud to get US citizenship, then thrs nothing u cud go goin back n u wud also start to be happy to be here.
But in contrast to tht, if the people around u want to go back to nepal with some idea which lot of people r doing currently.

Or if one of ur parent is corrupted Politicians, u dun wanna go back cause u just dun have surrounding tht u cud enjoy.

So there might be several other reasons particular person does not want to go back to nepal.

I think it depends on how recognized u were in nepal and what were your surroundings. There r several people who has returned back to Nepal. It also depends on you and overall surroundings. So thr r several we might need to consider before we say anything.

Do you only see worse part of nepal?

Did anyone think about Mero mobile an international company wud go to nepal n make such a huge money showing NTC middle finger? So dun complain,u will be happy for a moment when u complain but eternally.
My point is nepal is such a country with huge potential, becasue it does not have anything. If you can lead this time in nepal, u will be a leader/pioneer, n u live a good life like Binod Chaudhary.
I would definitely know lot of people in Nepal who live lot better life than most of the Nepalis in America live.
For the people who thinks thr is no job in nepal, thr is no sytem in nepal, i would say we r not going to  find one thr, we create it, think about it.

I'm glad to read your views, Freedom.
Often, I'm dumbfounded by these people within certain borders threatening each others and killing in the name of it. They're brainwashed at such level that they take great pride to be within certain border lines. Should big extinction level asteroid(god forbid) hit any region of the earth, all we fools would be affected, possibly wiped out. I don't think their fortified borders will save them from catastrophe. Probably, then they'll realize that our only home was Earth, and we're the citizen of planet Earth.

Now, coming to the context of the thread, you are right, we fools reflect our problems to others, blaming India is not solution when termites are within us, eating the country.

@chaurey, your view resonates mine. When I posted views similar to yours, I was mocked at being unpatriotic. It's basic human right of every living human to be happy, if the person can't find that in the place he/she is living, he makes a move and when he admits the reason of doing so, he's literally vilified and barbwired in accusations and shitload of nonsensical stuffs coming out of their brains. I personally don't liked to be ruled over by incompetent political 'eunuchs' who care of noone but themselves alone. As I recall saying things, it has deteriorited even worse than I've ever imagined, I admit I hailed from Nepal but those moth-er-fc-king goons have made once a happy kingdom to shitload playground of wolves.

@greenzerk:
 you can keep putting make up on a pig all you want bro but that doesn't discount the fact that most Nepalese businessmen have unfavorable condition to run their business in Nepal. Think about a small business owner in Nepal who has to fear for his life when the cops come around every month to get their share of the "Bhatta" and then the political goons who ask for their  "chanda" incase you have never talked to restaurant owners or pasaley from up the alley etc.

You speak of small percentage of people who live in Nepal like Kings and cite  their way of living standard which i think is totally ridiculos. Not a lot of Nepalese have the kind of means and capital to afford suchluxury  You have discounted the the fact that majority of of Nepalese struggle day in and day out to make ends meet. And even for those rich people there is no service available, even if you want to pay extra money to buy basic services like 24/7 running water or electricity from the existing condition. Are you happy with that? I think most Nepalese if given a chance will bolt from that shit hole situation and immigrate elsewhere.

However; I agree that potential is always there, business wise or other in Nepal and I am not discounting that but with the shit hole situation things don't get prioritized or done...that is what Nepalese have now accepted and they are now  okay with whatever little is available. take for example hydro electricity, abundance of water resources etc yet Nepal struggles to provide sustainable electricity and water supply to it's population....why?  Nepalese people should be furious about it yet they are not...everything runs with "hyaa bhai halcha ni" "chali halcha ni" mentality and that driving the country deeper in the shit hole. Nepalese are neck deep in shitty situation and now that deep shitty situation has become a way of life.

 Everyone has their points. King, Minister, Workers, Homeless, beggars. I respect all of their feelings.
Looking at the points mentioned there it reminds me of Maobadis making lot of points just to gain votes. They talked about communism. Communism is such a concept/situation that never exists. it is a fantasy actually, if you really read communists's idea they r so good, man , it is just so good. It is too good tht aint gonna happen. Looking at ur points as well, i kinda get the same feelings. I can tell u tht each of the point is too ideological. Ideology is not bad but it is just, u know wht i m sayin.

I am also not being too much patriotic here, just tryin to see the possibilty and do sth so tht if the generation after us would not question us like we r doing rite now to older genration u know. Yes definetly the questions will be different as the time will be changed and their demand will be different. Now we might be cursing our politicians, becasue we cant do anything else other than cursing politicians and blaming them for all wrong stuffs. . If you get ur child born here, they wont give a shit to Nepal. But no matter u try to u cant be american, in this life at least. So patriotism sometimes can be viewed as identity. In what level u wanna identify, in a country level? earth level? universe level? but when u look at ur passport u will know what is ur boundary,big talk is a good stuff but when you just look at ur passport and look at Country of birth, then u will probably realize, but thts another dimension, dun wanna go there either.

 fantasy ma basnu bhanda reality lai face garne ho ki? yes nepal is poor everyone knows tht, thts the reality and we have to face tht. No one has to explain the situation of nepal, but if u look at American history was it like this from the begining? I am not comparing US with Nepal, just giving an example. I meant it is part of evolution, I am very optimistic tht in 25 years Nepal will be better than what we could imagine right now?

Politician harulai baal hanam aile. baru possibilty ko kura garne ho ki, International company haru nepal gayera paisa chhapirako chhan, while your cursing ur country n politicians, binod chaudhary is in forbe's list of billionaires while u r comparin ur country to shit hole, my point is garne le garira chha, alternative tannai rakhira chha. batti chhaina bhane solar chalairachha, tara chali raachha.
how could you discount tht? The reason u r making progress here is becasue of urself, Can u imagine urself working as a waiter in nepal? just imagine, but here u r so proud to be tht. Can u be shopkeeper in Nepal? but here u r so proud to do tht.
I watched interview with Anil Shah, last time on my Roku last week and his idea is so good.
There is guy whose last name is Pun from UK, he returned back to Nepal and took trashed computers to Nepal and distributed amongs young kids there, Do you realize tht kid can be steve job tiomorrow? Nepalese could not be steve jobs becasue they saw computer when they were like 30 years. I ma sorry it sounds rattling to you, n i might not be able to organize all these things cause i m in a hurry ,cause it is friday evening n my wife is calling me again n again but im just trying to finish it up.
Good luck guys.

 @Chaure,

Nepal has changed now at least. We r in big pile of shit than before but we r in different situation right now.
When you r talkin abt so called small businessmen, those sound  like excuses to me. garne le garira chha ta? Business ma success hune sabaile Police lai bhatta diyerai ho? Sabai small business le police bhatta nai dinchhan ta? Those who r in illegal businees will definitely pay the police, i have heard abt it but i also dun have proof like u dun have.
NTC, Mero mobile, Surya tobaccoo companies, Chaudhary  r jsut some of em i could think of right now. Every nation has dark side. Blaming others aint gonna take us anywhere.
These days US Embassy in Nepal has created Youth Council where they interact with youths directly. So it is basically we dont need these political leaders. The whole idea is now it is Nepalese youth's turn to reshape the country. No Maobadi, No khaobadi, No Raja, No Congress, No UML.
So if you can do anything from ur side(It is not money they need, they need inspiration and they need suggestion how can they achieve the goals) to keep the good work up, Nepalese youths would appreciate that. It is never too late to start. We can go far together supporting each other but blaming and cursing each other we would take country to the same shit hole where these politicians have pushed toward. Lets be different than our leaders  by supporting each others becasue this genration has now to do something because they failed. If someone is doing the right thing for the country lets support it.
Thanks for taking this conversation positively. I am proud i have very understanding/hard working Nepalese fellow citizens.

Freedom,

Land belongs to noone ? Yeah that is why people have been killing each other for it since the begining of time. Lol !! Of course boundries were set by humans. That is why when your deed says 2 acres you get two acres. lol !! Not the entire earth. lol !!

live happy and let live happy. In theory it sounds great, but how often that happens ?
 JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AND FREEDOM DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL ATTAIN HAPPINESS AUTOMATICALLY.

DO NOT BURDEN MOTHER EARTH ? LOL !! just take a good look at planet. Almost 50% of animal kingdom is almost extinct, we barely have any forests left
 , global warming, draughts etc etc

You are a global citizen ? lol !!
 Show me your passport then Genius.

Apart from this I agree with the government's idea of granting Nepali Citizenship to those people. Like that Muslim Lady who has been selling Chura in Kel Tole sidewalk since before I was born. Same thing with the guys who owned a cosmetics shop on New Road for over 25 yrs. And their kids were born in Nepal, went to same schools as you and I did, ate the same produce that you and I eat, played in the same playgrounds. In other words there were sardarjis, madhesi, marwadis, muslims all kinds of people in our high school. I think those people are just as Nepali as you and I. It would be idiotic to say they are not Nepali. But at the same time I
 am not saying open the flood gates and let everyone in.
