I am trying to send 2 (37 gm each ) gold bar to nepal with my parents. Can anybody knows if it is legal to send it. I do not want to put them in trouble if it is illegal.
Guys, do not take me wrong, I am trying to make some jewelry for my sister's upcoming wedding .

thank looser for sharing your experience.
Do you know if there is any legal amount that you can carry. How did you guys decide to take such a huge amount. Is it because you guys know anybody out there in nepal airport? My parents are scared so do not wanna put them in trouble.
thank you for your inputs

I dont know the legal amount but i have heard people were taking 10/15 of them. Gold doesnt get detected on the screening device. I was scared too when my parents took 5 last year but no questions were asked and i havent heard anyone getting caught with it.

I just emailed the department of customs stating how people are bringing gold biscuits in their hand carry and not paying the proper revenue the country deserves. Btw gold bullion is not jewelery.

:)
