Hi everyone
I am in USA ( F2 VISA) since 2 years. Recently I have passed my NCLEX RN (registered nurse) exam with my BSN(bachelor of science of nursing) degree from India. Is there any agencies or company who have recently sponsored H1B or green card visa to the registered nurse.Kindly let me know if there is any other options to get H1B .

Sorry to say but it's nearly impossible to get H1b in Nursing specially when you are F2 and obviously not practicing nursing. I am not sure why universities are spreading false rumors that Nursing is the best profession specially for international students but the fact is currently it's the worst profession in terms of visa and workload.

I am totally agree with sajhamitra,
no matter how you work as a nurse, due to the large amount of hospital bill, majority of patient give negative feedbacks and they start with nurse,
hospital management is always on your shoulder,
suu, doctors think nurses taking away their job, they are always mad (some exceptions)specially when they are on call.

I have seen RN also doing the following jobs
changing dippers, patient shower, cleaning bed sheet, help them in restroom
you need BSN degree for this job!!!!

And you have 12 hours shift always, by the time come home, you will be full of stress in your mind and physically tired.

who enjoy 12 hours shift and stress full job!! no body!!! only $30 per hour but no life

@ Urgent: the answer is NO, it is very difficult to get H1B via nursing. But there is always little chance. some home health agency esp indian's can apply for you. I had met few people who got H1 via nursing. Basically they apply as a "case manager". There is more chance of denial. and it is waste of time and money as well.

@ Thukka: You said, "I have seen RN also doing the following jobs
Changing dippers, patient shower, cleaning bed sheet, help them in restroom
you need BSN degree for this job!!!!"

You have wrong mentality of what is nursing is. You need to grow up and see around what nurses does. Any nurse either s/he works in ER, ICU, Med-surg, home health, hospice or anywhere, they do nurse aide job along with nursing job (basically cleaning patients, giving shower, bed bath, helping to go bathroom or any activities of daily life). And those who become nurses have passion for it. Changing diapers, pt shower or anything else is not bad. Those falls under nursing whether you have associate on bachelor of nursing. Every job has its own positive or negative points. You may not like nursing because you think these things are nasty and RN should not do or it may not match your idea of perfect job. But those who likes nursing, this is their passion and it feels good when they see their patients happy and healthy. Don't wana give you too much lecture. But basically you need to grow up more mentally. I am sure you are in usa, you need to change ur conservative attitude. I know there are so many nurses who read sijha.

abt me: I am a male nurse, BSN/RN, been nurse more than 3 yrs and i love my job. i have passion for it. Every day is a different story and Yes i have done all of those your following jobs as you mentioned.

thanks....

Nursing is not for everyone. It takes a very strong, intelligent, and compassionate person to take on the ills of the world with passion and purpose and work to maintain the health and well-being of the planet. No wonder we’re exhausted at the end of the day! ~Donna Wilk Cardillo

I strongly agree with gallary.
@ thukka I humbly request you to read the gallarys postings. Also want to make you clear that nursing job is not only limited to changing diapers and so on, there are different position according to the job description. Also there are people dying to do nursing job with $30/hr rather than working in gas store or any other place with $8/hr.Changing diaper or whatever is all part of nursing profession ,infact its a service to the mankind which is priceless.

I strongly agree with napasider and gallery. Yes nursing is not for everyone. If you are starting your career just because you can earn money then just forget about it and move on to next career. Because fact is you can earn lot of money from other profession like IT where you can start a job with 3 months of training.

You should choose nursing only when you have real passion to serve. There is no place for " chi chi" in nursing. Changing diaper is in your job description and you gotta do you job. You will be working like a front soldier in the battle field. The amount of stress and workload is incomparable to salary which they earn. I have utmost respect to nursing profession and I hope someday USCIS and US government recognize that and make it easy specially for foreign students have passion.

Again I repeat my earlier comment. It's the worst profession in terms of Visa and workload right now but it's best profession if you want to serve people.

@ Thukka : you have said “I have seen RN also doing the following jobs

Common, Grow up man !!! Research something on NURSING before you throw your words ..Seems like you are very narrow minded and no sense of caring for others ..Nursing is far beyond than changing diapers and so on ... Cleaning and bathing is part of nursing job descriptions.. and you need to do that,, nurse loves to do that too ... Let me say something, to change that diapers and to cleaning.. you need a real resume and real experiences not a fake one which can be generated according to job requirements within an hour...
Please learn to respect people'e job and their compassion , efforts and dedication .

And I agree with sajamitra, urgent , nepasider..

Right now none of companies sponsors for H1B/green card. I used to work one of the reputed hospital, they said RN are not eligible to file H1B because on Hospital all (RN’S with Bachelors, associate degree and LPN) fall under the same category. So I would like to advise you please don’t waste your time looking companies who can sponsor you H1 B or green card. Just find another option. I already did lots of research while I was on my OPT. Now I am doing my NP. Even to do the NP you will require at least one year of RN experience in USA. Luckily I got Job on time and able to do my NP. So in these days it is very hard to survive in USA for international Nurses. So I don’t recommend any Nepali student to go nursing.
Good Luck

Nursing is respected profession, and also they make decent money. $30/per hour job after 2 yrs of community college education which goes up to 90k in couple of year, three day of work week in not bad.

Regarding cleaning and stuff, ask ur self , who will helf you if you are in bed , sick and can't do it ur self, thank god we are good nurses.
