open VLC, click the play button -> select 'Disc' tab --> select 'Bluray' and click 'play' on that tab
Your Bluray should play now.

VLC is not for non-geeks

VLC can do whole lot of things
-record streaming video
-change video parameters and save it to diff format(brightness, contrast, rotate etc)
-stream video playback
-fixes video errors
-plays all formats available today.
-and so many others I don't know yet.
