Washington DC, September 2nd 2015: Gorkhaly Foundation, an all volunteer run organization based in Washington D.C and a proud partner of Nepal Ko Yuwa, a 501 (c) (3) entity, is organizing a fundraising concert, “Voyage to Shangri-la Concert for Nepal”, featuring Nepal’s current #1 Rock Band The Albatross, also featuring Diwas Gurung, Snowmass, Moksha Mantra, and Zach Peterson, to raise funds for the foundation’s on-going efforts in Nepal. During the concert the foundation is also honoring the brave VA-TF1 International Urban Search and Rescue Team for their relief efforts after the devastating Nepal Earthquake. The concert is taking place on October 9th 2015 at the State Theater – 220 N Washington St, Falls Church, VA. The doors open at 7:00 PM. All the proceeds from the concert goes to the foundation’s work in Rebuilding Barpak and other relief and rebuilding projects.

Since the earthquake in Nepal, the foundation has worked relentlessly towards providing immediate relief and planning for the long-term rebuilding. The Foundation is committed to working long term in Barpak and helping rebuild the community - its homes, schools, health care centers, and rural enterprises. Our current focus has been in getting the village access to electricity for safety, food security and construction. While we have managed to restore temporary electricity to the village, we are working on ensuring its permanency. For more info regarding our Rebuild Barpak project please visit our website.
