On behalf of the Qatar government, Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal Ahamed Jaseem Mohammed Ali Al-Hamer today handed over the keys of nine Mercedes Benz cars to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa amid a function held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Kamal Thapa expressed sincere gratitude to the Qatar government for providing the vehicles to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also said that Nepal and Qatar have been enjoying excellent relations ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in January 1977.
Thapa said Qatar was providing employment to over 400,000 Nepali youths, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
The Qatari ambassador mentioned that Qatar gifted the cars as a gesture of friendship and goodwill.
MoFA will use the vehicles on important occasions, including the upcoming BIMSTEC summit, SAARC meetings and other important functions to be organised in Nepal, according to the Ministry.
