I am working using EAD from TPS and I am about to graduate this semester so I applied for EAD under OPT, Now that tps is extending what will happen? Will uscis give both tps ead and opt ead ? Please suggest me what would be best under different circumstances.

@hardworker: Bro as your name says hardworker I think you are. Anyways lets come to the point about recommendation. you are only allowed to have one EAD either from TPS or OPT. Since you already have OPT EAD applied, if I were you I wouldnt apply for TPS EAD.

What I did last time was I didnt applied for TPS EAD but was working under OPT EAD at an office. I applied TPS EAD 4 months before my OPT EAD expire, I Am sure you can do the same thing that would be the best thing to do. YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE EAD. I am sure your OPT EAD will get approved and you can work for 1-2 years depending on your major but you can use OPT EAD now and before 4 month expiration of OPT EAD apply for TPS EAD.

If you are graduating and if you did not apply for OPT EAD, you will not eligible for OPT from your current graduation degree.

If you applied and got the OPT and if you did not use it for your employment within 90 days of OPT start date, your F1 status will be cancelled.

Your OPT EAD job should be related to your study.

If you are working on OPT EAD, at the same time you can also work on another job using TPS based EAD.

If your F-1 status got cancelled and if you are working on TPS based EAD and if you are selected in H1B lottery, you have to have the consular processing for H1B stamping.

@taremam_bhai 2 ead cards are allowed so that is a wrong suggestion.

@hardworker1 I would suggest to apply for ead card this time.. since you are graduating soon you ll be applying for jobs and your opt based ead.. if you get a job that will sponser you use the opt based ead else you can use the tps ead card as last resort if you find a job that doesn't sponser you.

Seems like I am in the right thread. I have OPT EAD which can be extended but haven't got the project yet so still in dilemma about OPT extension. So I am planning to apply for TPS EAD this time but won't be using it until and unless necessary. My question would be do I have to send in the EAD copy received from OPT from school while re registering for TPS ?? And also can the OPT extension be done if I get into the project without any hesitation ???

Both ead can be applied and granted since both falls under different category. However, u can use only one ead at one time. I did appled two ead from different category and received both ead.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions and concerns. Now I know that I can apply for both EAD's ,my another dilemma here now is which one would be better in my situation.
I am currently working in a company in the field that is directly related with my degree and they are ready to file H1-B through OPT but If I can have another 18 months of EAD through TPS then I was wondering if they can directly apply for green-card through Labor authorization process. Which route is quick and easy? Any idea will be highly appreciated as me and my company has least idea in this matter. Thanks again.
