I am working under H1B in a accounting firm, but want to transfer my career to IT. Is it possible to transfer H1B to IT consultancy as my degree is in Accounting?

Many reasons, but main reasons are the company won't file for GC and it's hard to find companies that would sponsor h1b/file GC in accounting.

Not sure how an actual H1B transfer will happen (i.e. requesting H1b transfers for job titles that are entirely different). For that, I advise you talk to the hiring company that is going to file for the paperwork.

1. The practical problem is how do you find an IT Employer who will genuinely hire you for your IT Skills, if you have none.
2. Considering a move to an IT career, although you have none.

My similar situation: I had an accounting background and then after a generic (plain vanilla MBA) I worked as a Business Analyst for which my Desi Consulting company filed PERM Labor with job title "Business Operations Analyst".
But I did not had an h1b with an Accounting Firm to begin with. I started day 0 with desi company. You situation is a bit different.
