EVERYTHING has changed including Asylum Interview Officers. Trump Administration is replacing all of the officers with White Conservative people. Some Immigration lawyers in San Francisco have started to voice their concerns in social media including this google reviews:

I work in an immigration court and this is what I have noticed:

1. Earlier when asylum case went in front of the judge, you had two options a. to proceed with the case and either get the green card or get deported OR b. agree to not proceed with the case by accepting PD. PD is a condition where the government says, "you will not get the green card and cannot sponsor anyone, but we will give you the work permit. You can't come back once you leave the country." Once this administration came, there is no PD. You must proceed with the case; you either win or loose.

2. Earlier, once the judge granted an asylum to an individual, the government never appeal that decision. However, these days, they appeal (not always but in many more cases than before) and drag you to upper level courts.

3. Interestingly, I have not seen any changes in the amount of cases that were granted before or after this administration.

@interpreter ..thank you for the response. Court date : September, hopefully all goes well. I also heard that this article published by a freelancer nepali reporter is causing some debates over the approval of the asylum cases.
