I have not used Prabhu for sending money. But XOOM is very convenient for me. It is so fast and convenient, I kid you not, once day I was on my phone using the XOOM app, almost ready to send the money. Then there was a little bit of dust on my screen; I tried to clean the dust with my hand and it got "swiped" accidentally. Before I realized, the money was ready for pick-up in Nepal. It's that quick!! LOL

StatusPidit,

Does XOOM also provide Bank account deposit in Nepal? How reliable it is and how fast is the bank account deposit service, any idea?

I have been using Muncha Money transfer for past few years. Everything was so smooth and convenient until they started delaying the transactions citing their partner system is upgrading. Now it takes almost 8-10 days for money to deposit in the bank through Mucha. They suck big time !

Makar Rashi,

Yes, XOOM does have bank deposits too. You may have issues with your initial transactions since they need to verify your info and all that. But once you and your account(s) from which your funds are being sent out are recognized by their system, it's the FASTEST thing on earth. Their exchange rates are always lower than Moneygram, I have noticed. But their FREE transfer makes up for it, for which Moneygram charges around $27.50 if you are sending say 2 grand. Hope it helps....

I haven't set up account in XOOm but today prabhu online transfers says it will give 108.50 exchange rate with zero fee for transfer over 2000.
Anyone can verify what XOOM gives right now?

If Prabhu is giving you Rs. 108.50 per dollar over $2,000, it's a no-brainer. XOOM has listed it to be Rs. 106.8824 for today.

Transferwise has better exchange rates than XOOM Right now I checked the exchange rate on XOOM and you get only 1 USD = 107.131 NPR. when sending $1001 with no fees receiving total 107,238.15 NPR to the recipient When you use Transferwise right now you receive huge exchange rate of 1 USD = 110.07000 NPR with fees of $10.41 USD receiving total 108,869 NPR to the recipient so even with fees on Transferwise you are getting more money on Transferwise. If you click my referral link https://transferwisecom/u/stephenr336 (add dot com) to Transferwise and sign up you pay zero fees for your first transaction so make it count and send the maximum sending limit

These are based on my personal experience.
Muncha: Lately, they have been worse. I had been using them for 10 years but seems like its time to say Adios Muchachos. I actually reached out to them but the same old excuse that its their partner's fault in the delay. They debit the money out from my account and hold it for 5-6 days. Took 8 days for funds to be delivered.
Transfast: Not the best rates, but faster than Muncha. Create hassle once in a while to re-verify your transaction.
Xoom: It is very reliable, backed by PayPal, but has low exchange rates. Use the referral from a friend, get $20 and forget it. However can be the best platform for emergencies.
Prabhu: I recently started using them. Best rate among the four (when I used). Initiated transfer on Friday, money deposited to account in Nepal on Tuesday. Took 4 days but it truly was 2 business days. I am impressed. First impression will last, and they will get my business moving forward.

nepasider,

Thanks for your inputs. When I try to sign up for Prabhu, the first question they ask you is to select your state. What if the state I currently live in is not in their drop-down?

@StatusPidit,

Sorry, not sure if I can help you there. I would call them to see if there are any other options, but advise against transactions that cannot be traced.

Have you checked Transfast? or Xoom? depending on how much you are sending may not be a big difference.

After reading the responses I am planning to go with prabhuonline.com

When I try to complete my registration, the website prabhuonline.com asks me for my bank username and password.

I am afraid to give my bank username and password. Can someone abuse my username and password and log into my account?
