Hi guys, thank you for letting me know that tps is not considered as a public charge. I looked at the form for California because I live here. I had worked in a different state through a consultancy and they released my payment from another state. And then I started working in CA but the consultancy released my payment or cut my taxes based on another state where they are.
In this case, when I tried to file unemployment benefit due to the pandemic, it would ask me to call to claim it because I chose an option that says I worked in another state in the past 18 months other than CA. Recently, I have worked in CA and lost the job but it was not completely due to the pandemic, but getting less working hours was due to the pandemic. Can I still claim unemployment benefits after losing the job or quitting it?
And also, on the form, I see there is a question that says: are you a citizen or national. I am just a tps holder, I think I am supposed to pick ‘no’, but will I still qualify? Please help me with this or any other idea. Anyone was on the same boat who worked with a consultancy as a tps holder in CA who quit the job or fired? Please please share. It will be very helpful.
