Just saw the video of the protest in Nepalnews, and it's funny how they've all gotten their adrenalin rush in support of that asshole. Ironic too!

I Blame it all the Nepali media. The nepali journalism has has always been highly infuenced by political leadrers. They have not been able to perform at a level that our nation needs. It has not been able to understand the huge power it holds. Bringing in writers of different fields and the ultimate objective should be to deal with the major challenge the the country is facing today. Follow up you damm fool!! thats the only way we know what happened next. Follow the corruption cases on a daily basis . Follow up and publish journals and articles relevant to the talks everyday how its progressing if it is or what needs to be done. Seek help from professionals , intellectuals, profesors, and international media. show people what would be the scenario if the so called demoracy were to prevail in real and show what if the maoists rule would be . campare and contrast . Be a critique. Inform.. Inform and also Educate us. You hold the power.bring it in use. Stand by your duty , be coureageous.

I think Girija and co. had the right to be discontent with the incident in TIA. For one, he is a former PM and by the provision in place, he --though a 'moron,' an 'ass****,' or whatever-- should have been designated a VVIP and allowed in, easily. If the majority should disagree, than the permutation should be changed.

Let us sideline Girija's personality for a time being and try to gauge the situation as neutral observers. A leader of the second biggest democratic party in the country, and a former PM, is stopped from embarking on a journey en route to addressing a mass! because..................??By all indications the guards at the airport were well aware of Koirala's imminent visit. In this light, how can their behaviour be justified? And isn't something sinister, either on the part of the government and, or, the security men implicated? If not, let the security personnel justify their action.

Yes, we Kathmanduies were up to here with bandhas. The student unions should have thought of other means to voice their displeasure. But again, by the turn of recent events, all indications are that every other means, except bandhas, is futile to get the message across to concerned authorities in Nepal. This is a sad and worrying trend. Unless a shut-down is called, it seems,it is nigh impossible to be heard. The authorities, not immune to our 'kan ma tel halera basne bani,' act nonchalantly unless the situation gets out of hand and drastic actions are called for by the victims.

Let's hope common sense prevails next time 'Girija babu,' or any other dignitary, accousts the men in green in.

First of all, they denied the admission to a person whose actions have cost so much loss to our nation. So, it is actually good to know that. Anyways, as the nation has more important and crucial things to heed upon, extra strikes, protests and bandhs are only worsening the situation. One newspaper indicates that Kathmanduits are now tired of such forcibleness of parties.
Girija, if he was a good politician, after knowing how much people have suffered from strikes, vandalism, etc., should have called upon the supporters not to go for the vandalism and strike at least for better of Kathmanduits. But as a nagging child, he wants the focus to be turned on himself. "They didn't let me in, so all other citizens should suffer" and as a dirty politician, as he always was, he will come up with some spicy theories of conspiration. Girija, now should have voiced for the nepalese stuck in iraq, the nepalese being tormented in Nepal, but he is more busy with his own problems.
Right now, all we need is peace in Nepal and more strikes and forcibleness by parties is not definitely a way to go.

Well, Ted Kennedy also was having lots of trouble to get on the airplanes until few days ago. He had to go thru strip search virtually everytime he had to fly for the last 13-14 months, no one even knew about it, he never made a big fuss about it and I don't see any uproar or anything from the Democrats except few newspaper publising about it and ACLU asking the TSA to remove his name from the list.
Not that I am trying to compare Girija to T Kennedy, but just an obvious juxtapose of politicians from two different countries.
Oh, I wish there was America bandh too...

Supreme Court is going to give verdict on Girija's case pretty soon. Perhaps that's why Girija is trying to show his strength by creating this havoc.

Create fictitious problem at TIA, then ask the cadres to burn tires and so on using money from his unkown dhukuti.

Hey Maoist.. the first thing you guys should do is f*** this 80+ budha. Anyways you guys are quite experienced in killing such old aged budhas.

I wonder why Girije's and his paid followers do not call bandhs after the massacre of 12 nepalese by terrorist in Iraq.

Shame on you Girije... You are a filthy, senseless, idiotic useless Budha. You don't have any idea what the meaning of life.

Excerpts from the "Dead Constitution of Nepal"

PART 3

FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS

12. Right to Freedom:

(2) All citizens shall have the following freedoms:

(D) FREEDOM TO MOVE THROUGHOUT THE KINGDOM AND RESIDE IN ANY PART THEREOF; AND

((4) NOTHING IN SUB-CLAUSE (D) SHALL BE DEEMED TO PREVENT THE MAKING OF LAWS WHICH ARE IN THE INTEREST OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, OR WHICH ARE MADE TO IMPOSE REASONABLE RESTRICTIONS ON ANY ACT WHICH MAY JEOPARDIZE THE HARMONIOUS RELATIONS SUBSISTING AMONG THE PEOPLES OF VARIOUS CASTES, TRIBES OR COMMUNITIES;

Does anyone know of any law which prevents the movement of a citizen of Nepal within Nepal? The question here is not whether Girija is a good guy or a bad guy but can a citizen be denied from his right of free movement. I know the constitution is no longer alive but what about NATURAL LAW?

"In Nepal rule fools and exception rules" because "Maathi bata aadesh aa ko cha."

Girija was not prevented to ride the plane to Bhairawa. It's only his precious car that was prevented from passing the security point and directed to taxi stands. Now that car thing is not mentioned in the consitution,or is it?

Mathi Bata Aadesh perhaps decided not to pass his car at that moment for certain reason... but certainly he was not prevented to board the plane. He could have walked upt to the terminal without fear if he is janapriya neta. What's he afraid of? Anyways, that's how Gundhas move!!!!

When Maoists call for blockade; warn people with death threats; release, maintain, and enhance waves of their ýredý presence and vision; or let me just simply say glorify their revolutionary acts, we rarely see protests even a feeble ones on the streets. When a disoriented, power hungry, terribly corrupt, and reasonably bankrupt so called leader named Girija is allegedly denied access to the VIP lounge, the democracy in the nation comes into play. I, personally, think Girija should be awarded with unlimited stay in Sundarijal or bhadragol rather than in VIP lounge. What makes him a VIP? Just because he has fooled us repeatedly with contradicting slogans and defended his ýhaikambadý within his own party, does not secure him a VIP status. Or does it? Girija is more responsible in fueling Maoist movements than Maoists themselves. Maoists should award him with VIP status in one of their VVIP lounge somewhere. Maoists did not descend to national politics from vacuum. Leaders like Girija, and his other so called democratic allies provoked those people badly struck with constant injustice, deteriorating socio-economic chaos, and defenseless promise of dreams for good governance, and betterment of the quality of life. When I have a choice of listening about injustice, or bad governance, I would rather listen and trust Maoists than the leaders like Girija.

In fact, the security forces served a favor to those people in Bhairawa or wherever that disoriented lunatic GPK was going to fool people with his rhetorical nonsense.

Is Nepali democracy Girijaýs langauti? Every time Girija is offended or so called attacked, he and his bhaktas scream ýguhar guhar democracy is in dangerý. Give me a break.

Bond-007, Does the constitution of the United States prohibit taking pictures of bay bridge? You are aware of Sen. Ted Kennedy (D., Mass) being stopped repeatedly by different airlines from boarding commercial airplanes. Are you not? TSA apologized because he is who he is, a powerful senator (for 30 yrs, I think) from Mass but if yours or mine name matches with one of those terrorists forget about riding a plane over American skies. Will you cite the US Constitution to the security officers at the airport? Constitution is just a framework- not a detail book on how to 101.

What kind of freedom are you talking about?,
The only freedom Girijee wants is freedom to move his ass from one primeministership to next and freedom to keep moving his hand amassing "Ghush" into his pocket, and in that order. That kind of freedom has sucked the country dry leaving poor people either to the hands of Maoists and now to the hands of AlQuida. He should be strapped into a chair while CIAA is allowed lick clean his dhukuti.

So what he was barred from boarding plane. He is calling that a GRAVE? Murdering 12 innocent people in a foreign land is grave. Not helping them when there was opportunity was a grave. I dont think they went there by choice but rather due to pathetic situation like Bandhs called by netas and failed economy. I just wonder why people of our age reacts so passionately to Girja incident while no one comes to help when 12 brothers needed most. I mean they were held for 2 weeks and none of the leaders bother to raise the issue.

>I, personally, think Girija should be awarded with unlimited stay in
>Sundarijal or bhadragol rather than in VIP lounge. What makes him a VIP?

It is perfectly legitimate for someone to long to see Girija Koirala behind bars. Wouldn't it be appropriate for the court to aprehend GPK for his corruption?
Stopping GPK from flying by a lowly military personnel, in a shady manner, only leaves a place to doubt.

>You are aware of Sen. Ted Kennedy (D., Mass) being stopped repeatedly
>by different airlines from boarding commercial airplanes.

Yes it is true that Sen. Kennedy was on a no-fly list. But a fact to be noted, intentionally ignored by several, is that his nephew (William Kennedy Smith) was sued for a charge of raping someone five years ago. Now, in Nepal, do you expect a killer to be sued , for that matter charged, for killing a celebrity in a broad daylight less than five years ago?

The point is, if GPK is culprit, whoever masterminded not-letting-GPK-fly-plan is also a culprit. Advocating for a culprit leaves a place to doubt.

My two cents.

Sorry friends if I offended your feelings! I am aware of what happened to Ted Kennedy and also aware of people being unfairly treated for taking picture of bay bridge.

I know in recent past the citizens of US are denied of some of the basic rights they used to enjoy pre 9/11 (I think the US government is exercising its rights under US patriot Act, and unless that act is adjudged unconstitutional it is the law of land).

But my question was can a citizen of Nepal be denied the right of free movement just because "Maathi bata aadesh aa ko cha"?

Rbaral,
Do you really think that the current government is capable of taking Girija head on? Can the current trishanku govt. really bring GPK to justice? Although Chrinjiwi Wagle still is a senior leader in NC (D), Sher B. Deuba has no comment on where his comrade is. Authorities are looking for Wagle and the party leader Deuba is mum.

Political system in Nepal is in chaos now. Legislative body is defunct except for a couple of people, lunatic Tara Bhat and Deputy speaker Ms. yadav. Executive body is barely functioning. Judicial system is corrupt, slow, and runs more with threat, whim, and evasion than with books of laws. I doubt the courts in Nepal would dare dragging Koirala to the court. How can chicken authorities dare to take Girija down When his hanumans go wild around town just because the lunatic did not get to enjoy his "VIP" status?

Also, what is the point are you trying to make by saying "Stopping GPK from flying by a lowly military personnel..."? Would you have felt better if CinC had stopped THE Girija babu, the one and only defender of democracy? lowly military personnel... so what?

"Yes it is true that Sen. "

This above comment is interesting. How are you connecting the fact Sen. Kennedy being stopped from boarding commercial airplanes with his nephew being sued for a crime? I am saying Nepali laws are only for poor not for influential people. That's why Girija, Wagle, Khadka, Joshi, Gachhedar walk aound freely and Rame, shyame, and daura chirne Bhakte are in jail.

My point is, looking at the situation in Nepal, Girija being stopped from going to VIP lounge or taking his flight is no big deal. I also agree that he should have let go to wherever he was going to vent his frustration. Girija is not my leader, and has not led us to good governance when he had the chance. Nation is going through pretty rough time. He should have asked his hanumans to be constructive when protesting not destructive. If his hanumans are upset that their maibap was stopped from swastis and VIP status, then they should taken the issue to the concerned authority. Why are they banging vehicles of innocent people? why are they thrwoing stones wherever they want? why are they disrupting traffic? what the hell did they call bandh for? Damn!

Girija is the one of the persons who lead Nepal and Nepalese to this condition, preventing him from boarding a flight is nothing he should be burn alive like other ordinary Nepalese. Maoiest are not going to do that because they are terrorist who only can kill ordinary citizen and being paid by Girija himself but some body else. There will be some one and some day.

Doesn anybody know what happened with the verdict on Girije's case supposed to come from Supreme Court on Sept 01, 2004.

I think this is the time he should be put into Jail while the Valley is still under curfew. He was tryingto board tha tplane to Bhairahawa, because it was time for Supreme Court to brign out the verdict, and if the outcome is not favorbale for Girija, he thought it would be easy to vanish from Bhairahawa to India. Probably, that's the reason, why Govt. also stopped him from boarding the plane. If tha's the case.. I would commend the Govt. very highly.

If the Govt. is listening and reading this Kurakani... Go ahead, this is the perfect that time put Girja Chor into Kail.. Jail is the only place He deserves.
