So what if Dharnez imitate Darjeelingeys? Dharan and Darjeeling shares some values that rest of the nation don't. People from Dharan and Darj are more open minded, liberal and very social and that is more than can be said for the rest of country. There is nothing wrong in learning from someone who you feel close to and YES Dharane and Darjeelingeys treat each other like long lost siblings. I don't see a problem here, do you? There might be a thing or two to learn from westerners (paschimey), but you all need to learn more from Dharan. Time and again, Dharan has shown the nation its fighting spirit when economy was down once British closed the Ghopa Camp and when hundreds were killed due to the earthquake. We as citizens of Dharan helped each other out, neighbors to neighbors, tols to tols, wards to wards and resurrected our lives and the city. No other city can even come close to community involvement in infrastructures and other various social and economic development, even the capital or cities which earns in millions from tourists. Dharan has stopped looking for aids from the government, which almost never materialize as far as Dharan is concerned. Dharan has its share of problems like rest of the cities but we don't shed tears about it, we deal with it.

After reading this I definatly want to go to Dharan though I am from eastern Nepal I have never been to dharan. Very Good one Gokul jee.

१५ बर्ष भएछ हौ धरान नगएको। कोशी सुपर एक्स्प्रेसको रात्री बसमा गएको थिएँ। त्यही बेला धनकुटा, हिले र बसन्तपुरसम्म जाने मौका मिलेको थियो। भानुचोक हो कि छताचोकमा हो, बिर्सिएँ (केशव पुस्तक पसलको अगाडि) मम खाइएको थियो। निकै रमाइलो भएको थियो पुर्वको यात्रा।

Hare shiv...Kasto kura ma ladnu thaleko hola... I don’t know how beautiful Dharan is because I have never been there but let one love the place where they grew up... I love where I was born and raised...I think there is no other place like where I am from... SO? Have you heard a poem calledâ€, MERO PIYARO OKHAL DHUNGAâ€â€¦.I am sure some of you guys have objection on this on as well…??????? (DHARAN) poem is very beautiful...It touched my heart...good job GOKUL... You know only insecure ppl would unenthusiastically observe this. I can clearly see jealousy on the Air; that Gokul wrote such a moving poem but THEY couldn’t. NOW SHUT your Negative pie hole and star appreciating one’s work

Dashain-Tihaar ko bela.... dharahara muni baata choot-thyo night-bus beluka 4 ho ki 5 bajey tira... Mugling ma 8:30 tira... aahaaa katti mitho khana hunthyo tyaha... ani thik midnight tira hetauda puginthyo... tyaha chai poleko makai ra fanta khayinthyo... aahaa... ani jhismisey bihaan hunda koshi barrage pass hunthyo... hami munto jhikera barrage ko gate haru ganthyau... ani 7:30am tira Dharan ko Bhanu-chowk aaipugthyo... camp janey rikshaw haru thelum-thel garthey... Kati mitho yaad aayo.

BEEN TO DHARAN 3 TIMES. FIRST TIME IN 1997 WHEN I WAS IN NEPAL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE. DHARAN IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL.............AND WITH IT'S SIMPLICITY I VISITED AGAIN IN 2002 WHEN I WAS IN NEPAL AGAIN. WITH SO MANY IRRESTIABLE GOOD FOOD I REVISITED DHARAN AGAIN IN 2003. DHARAN HAS SO MUCH TO OFFER. GOOD FOOD, GREAT LOCATION, BEAUTIFL LADIES AND MUCH MORE SO THIS TIME I BOUGHT A SMALL MANSION ALTHOUGH MY HOME IS IN KTM. AND I HAVE TO AGREE THAT DHARAN AND DARJEELING SHARE THE SAME SPIRIT. THIS IS MAINLY BECAUSE DHARANE AND DARJEELING ARE BRO-SIS IF I AM NOT WRONG. LASTLY THOUGH I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO READ NEPALI, I HAVE SEEN AND EXPERIENCE LIFE IN DARAN EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FOR A VERY SHORT TIME.

जिम्मालबा, अवश्य खाइयो याक होटेलमा। हिलेमा गजुर होटेलमा बसिएको थियो, त्यहाँको तोम्बा पनि भ्याइयो। धनकुटाको परिचय होटेलमा भात पनि खाइयो। बसन्तपुरबाट बसमा हिले झर्दा चित्रेतिरबाट कुहिरोलाई छिचोल्दै सिधुवा झर्दाको अर्कै आनन्द थियो। रितेन, त्यो बेला धरान र बिराटनगर जाने अरु बसहरु सीता, सिम्रिक आदी पनि थिए। कोशीले चाँही मुग्लिङ्को कल्पना होटेलमा खुवाउँथ्यो। २०४० साल अघि रात्री सेवा त्यती चल्दैनथ्यो। धरहरामुनिबाट बिहान ४ बजेतिर त्यता जाने बसहरु छुट्थे।

Pahiley nai Kathmandu-ma balla balla VCR (deck) aauna-thaleyko bela-ma, Night Bus ma pani video dekhauney chalan aayeko thiyo. Uusbela, mailey pani New Area Yaatayaat ko Bus (Kakkarbhitta janey) ma Dilip Kumar bhayeko "Majdoor" bhanney filim hereko thiye. Tara maat lagera, mugling napugi jhyaal bahiraa "Qawaali" diyeko yaad cha. 2001 ma Ugrachandi bhanney night bus chadeko thiye. Assadhyai thottro.

म जाने बेलामा त साथीहरुले कोशी सुपर एक्स्प्रेसमै जाने सल्लाह दिए। त्यही बेला त्रिफलाले बिराटनगरको सेवा शुरु गरेको थियो। 1510D मोडेलको बस भनेर खुब प्रचार गर्थ्यो। चढ्नेहारुले भन्थे, नौबिसेबाट नागढुङ्गा २५ मिनटमै उकाल्छ भनेर। त्यती बेला 1210 E मोडेलको टाटा हुन्थे प्राय: बसहरु। तिनिहरुले ४० मिनट जती लगाउँथे त्यही उकालो चढ्न। हुन त साझाका जापानी बसले पनि त्यस्तै २५ मिनटमा उकाल्थे। पुर्व जाने बसहरु प्रतिस्पर्धामा चल्ने भएर प्राय: नयाँ हुन्थे, पश्चिम जाने चाँही सिन्डिकेटमा चल्ने भएर थोत्रा हुन्थे। त्यो बेला (१९९१)मा काठमाडौंबाट धरान (५४३ किमी)लाई १५५ रुपैयाँ भाडा तिरेको थिएँ। यसपाली बेनीबाट पोखरा (८२ किमी)लाई १८० रुपैयाँ तिर्नु पर्यो।

Chipledhunga ko kura sunda khoob ramailo laagcha. 2002 ma dharan baat kathmandu Airbus ma farkiyeko thiye. Airbus Boeing ko competitor hoina, Chinese bus rahecha, air condition bhayeko. Choto bus, bhitra seat haru pani yaha ko Grayhound ko jasto. Tara haami bus-ma basey pachi aru aru bus ko conductor haru "yo bus ko brake-system ta ramro chaina hai" bhanna aauthey, ani hamro driver le tiniharu-lai laat haani pathauthey. Bus ko yatra ta ramrai bhayo. Aajkal ta bus pani 100KM/hr ma chalauda rahechan, flat and straight section of Mahendra Rajmarga ma. Agni Yatayat ko bus ta khoob huikyaada rahechan. Yo driver driver ko pratispardha-le pani ghari ghari bus durghatana bhayeko hola. Je hos, uuhiley ko jamana ma night bus chadney aananda arkai hunthyo. Hoina ra Chiple-ji?

बस चढ्दाका रमाइला र नरमाइला अनुभव त प्रशस्तै छन्। स्पीडकै कुरा गर्दा काठमाडौंबाट त्रिशूली ओहोर दोहोर गर्दाको सम्झना आउँछ। ७० किमीको दूरी पार गर्न टाटा बसहरुलाई ४ देखी ५ घण्टासम्म लाग्थ्यो। साझा यातायातका मित्सुबिशी बसहरुले भने ३ घण्टा जतिमा सोही दूरी छिचोल्थे। टाटाको तुलनामा त सुपर सोनिक जेट चढे झैं हुन्थ्यो। अमेरिका आएपछि यसो सोच्छु त औसत १५ माइल प्रति घन्टा मात्रै हुँदो रहिछ साझाकै स्पीड् पनि। बान्ता गर्नेहरुले चाँही हैरान पार्थे। बालाजु र तादी खोला बीचको बाटो पुरा नहुन्जेल छदुवाहरु सकृया हुन्थे। त्यसमाथि रानीपौवामा मुला खाने पनि टन्नै हुन्थे। रानीपौवा कटेपछिको यात्रामा मुलाको डकार र बान्ताको गन्धले बस दुर्गन्धमय हुन्थ्यो। बस यात्रा (र त्यस्पछिको पद अनी हवाइ यात्रा)को अर्को कथा संस्मरण पढ्ने भए बस नं १०१ को धागो (दुइ चार पेज पछाडि गए भेटिन्छ) हेरम् है।
