This thread is answer to Loote's narrow minded problem specification. Loote you have changed Ur stand: U were talking about top down approach now u are changing to bottom up. You can fool others not me .I gave you the idea of bottom up :) People who do not know what democracy is and do not believe in one should not try teaching democracy to others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The problem specification: First of all, you and many others are pointing the problem of Nepal-king is wrong so you solution is wrong too!!!! The major problem of Nepal: 1] Geography: Geography plans an important factor in development of Nepal. What we call Nepal’s assets is infact Nepal’s main obstacle. The mountainous regions are hard to reach as well as develop specially for poor country like Nepal. 2] Geography location: This was, is, will be the major challenge of Nepal, Its location between two powers. Landlocked three ways by India .No access to ocean has played major economic set backs for Nepal. Not that it couldn’t have developed .there was one after other reasons which follows this. 3] Politics: Nepal’s politics has never been Nepal’s politics. During the time from British in India to now. Nepal never had its politics. It was Indian politics that has determined Nepal’s politics.TheIndian politics is such an evil; it changes its color every time from king to the Maoist now. 4] Failing to produce Good Leader: Nepal has not been able to produce one single great leader. A true leader dedicated to country. The closest one till now was ganesh man who didn’t get opportunity to do anything. 5] Impatience Nepalese: 1990 democracy was too young. To expect drastic changes from it .looking at the circumstance of Nepal. People had very high expectations from low caliber leaders. Even after so much corruption Nepal was moving to right direction until Maoist came in and failing to understand democracy in individual level 6] Maoist: After 1990 Maoist war paralyzed Nepal’s economy, the democracy and peace. It was technique to show how fail is the state where as Nepal wasn’t as bad as state after 1996.The war has not only cost life, but halted all the development efforts, education... Bombing bridges that are access to the villages and claiming that food didn’t reach? Scaring and kidnapping all the teachers and telling that state do not care about education? Nepal is poor country will be for I don’t know how long but whatever there it was is 10 times worse now due to great vision of Maoist! 7] Educated Nepalese: yes …you and me...what have we done for our country? Doctors don’t want to go in rural villages. Engineers don’t want to go but want to bribe ministers and get consulting projects. All Nepalese have learned is how to pull each other legs... how to run away from the country and responsibilities. Think that is going to change!!!By hate politics and politics of violence. You cannot change – 1and2 but you can change the rest but before that: “CHANGE THAT YOU WANT TO SEE IS YOU†-imi

Wow, this has to be one of the most superficial posts I have ever read. Who doesn't know the root causes of problems as to why Nepal is in its current state? Do you need to spell it out for us? Do you think we're all toddlers? Is this the best your "analytical" mind could produce? I felt like I should complete my ESL course before I bash my head against the wall after reading this tripe. Who are you trying to "educate"? Nothing substantive about this piece. How old are you? In your teens/early 20's?

Seriously, what was so incisive about your "post"? Your "post" is nothing but regurgitated crap. Most sajhaites with analytical minds have already moved on to other blogs that are more analytical in nature--so what we're left with on this board are a bunch of bumbling nincompoops with delusions of grandeur. How old are you? Serious question. Do you really believe your post was all that? Holy crap. Your post sucked, and your writing sucked even more.

Humanitarian ..these are not superficial ideas ..i blame you for the condition of nepal as well as me ..talk to me more mature than this!!!! -whatever you are guys are saying social inequality and that that are secondary factors..first factor is you !!!! Don't teach me ..bigger problem as always been politics ..no matter who ever has tried to do anything for country ..india politics has always been obstacle...but you genius mature brain denies it!! See ..social inequality would go away when you develop nation ...what prevented us from developing our nation..is the first point. and even if you want the other way around equality before development..where in this freaking earth has there been a equality ?? what is the limit of equality and do you believe maoist role model by solving equality by division would solve this has some people are chanting songs of maoist? well ..fairness and equality are important i do not deny..but ..again ..how much fair and equal have you been ?? can't we blame you for that????mr mature guy

sorry loote bro, i was not aware that some people could get so confused with the dog and his own dog-like behaviour. anyway, such literal interpretation answers my question unsolved for a long time: what made him from failing to grast the ground reality of Nepali societal settings and politics? :))))) Jai Nepal!!

Education, Eradication of poverty and oppurtunity can change society faster than government sponsored programs. If the New Nepal takes decisions that will not control its citizens thought process or business ambitions, in long run will yield positive results. What I mean is if some one wants to become an Engineer, study medicene, arts he should do it from good/bad college, quality will become better later on but let colleges open up and educate more people. If some wants to do business (ofcourse right businesses only) let them do it not thinking of consequences (India prohibits VOIP phones thinking it will affect BSNL and other companies such santions are against innovation) there should be no sanctions. If the New government creates an environment for Innovation and entrepreneurship, people will benefit immensely and many social issues will be rooted out. Its a process and will take time meanwhile lets not blame each other for problems. Dont worry about Government Jobs, as world changes not everyone needs them or wants them. I think Maoist/Communists are not hardcore religious kattarpanthi, I have a opinion that communism is a science that can be modified to peoples needs. It can be very useful to encourage social entrepreneurship, civil rights, social justice, brotherhood etc. However I am not really happy with the kind of people leading these parties. Most of the times circumstances are making them leaders. Its not they are bad people, but their scope is limited. Many times they arent willing to change from status quo or hear to the other side of view. Communinsts do have strong opinions. Educated/influential/passionate individuals who want to make a contribution to changing the world around themselves should join it only to change the way current Maoists think. As a Maoist you do have voice that can be heard in party forums. In fact what makes Mao a great leader is his ability to think different. If everyone avoids maoists the society becomes Binary - either you are supporting them or not. It leads to bigger conflict and segregation. So my idea is open your mind to their issues, hear to them, compromise, when you can push your ideas on them and work together. In India Left parties are working with COngress (which actually ditched third front changing four governaments). Left parties have been better partners than Congress itself. So partnerships are possible. By the way,I from India (We are no brothers, we should be partners : ask your government to work towards this) and I love the site and gals on site a lot. Congratulations on this beautiful site.

There is heavy and deep national crimes and corruption from top to bottom in government and political parties. It must be clean up whatever it cost .... even it takes thousand of lives No matter what. That is bottom line solution.
