Why would you go on 23rd paying 1700 when you can go on 25th paying 1400? And I am flying right from my hometown which doesn't even have direct international flights to connect to other flights bound towards Nepal. I am flying to an international airport from my small town and flying out of USA.

i think the best place for you to buy your tickets to nepal would be the so called 'KAALOI BAZAAR', you might get them much cheaper than the airlines and the Kaaloo bazaar customer service people do not yell and scream at you.

Khoi yar dikka lagesakyo. I inquired a local dhoti's travel agency here. He gave me a quote of 1970 including tax. And guess what for New Delhi it is only 1190 including tax.
I have seen people talking about going to Delhi and then buy ticket to Nepal from there.
Any idea about price.
