Probability of Breaking Up ; two questions to Answer. What is the likelyhood that the partner you are dating will get offer from the third party who is better than you - Financially, Looks , social class and above all Personality ? And What is the likelyhood that you will get another party to date you who is better than the one you are currently dating - Financially, Looks , social class and above all Personality ? Do some maths and be realistic - Don't be scared - you might be the wrong person for the other. * If already married too late to ask these questions.

Share your probabilities please ! If both have high chances - probabilities is pretty low. Probability could increase if separated geographically. How about yrs RSVP?

Kapeel..its a Post Modern Society ; there is no should ; could deal. Its how you do it matters ! but it is Just an Economic Model ! - does not exactly capture the vastness of primal factors.

i don't want to sound like an idealist, but once you start to calculate these probabilities and/or think economically, your love is not love- it's just a hallucination, so i would say those guys/gals to WAKE UP and move on with your life :P i believe in people who don't do things just for the sake of doing. "i have a gf/bf coz i want to look and sound cool" --that's crap! YOU EITHER DON"T DO IT, OR IF YOU DO IT, DO IT WITH PASSION. if you are passionate about ur love, if you believe in it eternally, then all these arithmetical interpretations sound like bull. LooTe

Lets Keep it little economic in this model ! Raw Materials. Geography - meaning if you are inter-state or further for more than yr. - In the long run in economics means more than a yr. Try comparing Hugging your partner with fedex; see how long it lasts ? Land, Labor and Capital ? keep em separated it does not wrk - ring the bell?

It does Stop at - Equilibrium Point. Theoritically!- Marriage. Sometime equilibrium might be forced upon by internventions; cultural , religious and other factors. It's not a perfect model nor is intended for. The intention is for a party who feels insecure to evaluate his/her situation and move forward with some facts involved in the relationship.

OK . as you said.. if you dont have patience to wait for the right time in everything for a girl .. or lets say you're always looking and single for the financials, looks, class that you've been looking for then the probability of a break-up is eventually 1 as loote said. My question is: how do u measure the patience that you endure? HOW LONG? HOW LONG CAN you remain without a break-up and sitting, wishing waiting. Do u wait for a time frame or an event to trigger on either sides of yours! The answer seems obvious anyways, and depends from person and situations.

Oldmaven Just incase; its two way model ; it has two results and those results need to be compared. It might be 1 for you and may be 0 for other, hypothetically or the extreme.

I got you ! Its infact a two way model. Either 1 or 0. i agree!!! IF there is a break-up for a relation that never existed "literally" ( possible because once you're indulged in relationship you shouldnt be looking anymore ) : 1 If the probability be 0 , then either its that you cant break-up cos you are bound to tie on your relationship but you were actually seeking for, and what!!! . you'll eventually remain the same for the rest of your life .. without the break-up , lets say .. unhappily married! Or, the other option could be , you keep on loving that girl till the rest of your life.. and any events on her side(supposedly marriage here) dont trigger you to get your life on your own. You turn depressed ( may not as well ) , write abt her , think abt her .. and what else .. [ hypothetical one as you said ] PS: this seems a little biased on the male species.. but thats what i think on my perspective. not necessarily convince ya all.

I would say that the probabilities of breakups are pretty high,, It's like a Na atom bonded together with Cl atom to form common salt NaCl,,The thing disintegrates as soon as comes in contact with Siler Nitrate Ag2N03 (not sure if it the correct form) and we see a white precipitate that wud disintegrate to replace Silver and take away chlorine if something more electropositive were to mingle with Silverchloride..But tyastai ho,,If we are to go by probabilities like this we probably would be living without salt NaCL in our daily food..I guess it depends on whether one choses to go with the stronger and better side or choses to make what/who he/she has stronger than anyone else.. all hidden in layers of cerebral tissues in one;s head..

I think monotonous hang up with same person more than a year is all probilities to look for something new. It's like a taste of same food for a long time. So, all these matters and duration of quality time counts a lot. For me, everything is boring after certain time. Work, relation and dress. Isn't that human? what about others?

“Financially, Looks , social class and above all Personality ?†I don’t know how often do people actually go for these criterions. If you ACTUALLY love somebody, then I don’t think you pre-formulate. Love just happens; no wonder we have sayings like “Love is Blind†(but what the heck). But now when a person literally tries to persuade himself/herself into taking such considerations once he/she is ALREADY in a relationship then I have some questions first: Everything besides “personalityâ€, who gives more preference? A Guy or a gurl? A dumb question yet in the search of an answer. Girls can be taken into consideration, as she is to marry that person, perhaps she is trying to secure herself (especially if she knows she is not gonna work later or knows she is gonna be a “dependant†wife ). So, do guys look for a “financially stable, upper-class beautiful women ?†If yes, why? My next question will be, Is long-distance relationship worth the wait? When I say “waitâ€, I mean a 3-4 yrs wait. Especially, if you are confused: if this person is the right one for you. If this person has problems with many things u do and yet is a “head-over-heelsâ€, lunatic lover. U are still trying to figure out if u’re gonna live happily married life and see 50-50 chances (oh god! I’m complicating now :s) The biggest question: How do u actually distinguish between love and obsession? Yet in my personal opinion, and from what I’ve seen of others, a person going for high class, handsome dude with tons of money and dynamic personality usually lands up having a messed up life and the old saying goes “lobh ma laap, laap ma bilaapâ€. :P but when we talk about leaving sb for sb “betterâ€â€¦â€¦..wht plays a major role? Perhaps, long distance….as u have more time to sit and compare :P
