21 year old  , 1st yr Med student, a nepali Girl , in a tragic road traffic accident in Tampa  FL.

Was hit by a car driven by a drunk driver on the way to home from the School.around 8;30 this evening. The drunk driver has few minor injuries and is in the police custody .

Nepali girl is in a critial stage with an internal bleeding into the brain..with multiple fractures in the body  and is undergoing a surgery .The condition is said to be critical so far.

She;s the daughter of a cardio thorasic surgeon .

So guys Drive safe and be Safe from Such drunken Drivers.

Please be sensitive while posting replies to such threads dealing with tragic events. I am not pointing fingers but you all know who I am talking to.

BTW FL, no offence to you buddy but you seem to know awafuly lot about the victim yet not knowing the person's name??? The reason being, there are probably many folks with last name sharma in the area that people here might know of or related to. so i think it is very insensitive on your part to just throw out partial information on such incident without any credible source or a detail description to back your claim.

For something of as tragic nature as you claim this news to be, there should have been plenty of news around florida papers but my googling didn't give me anything. so if someone else finds any link, please post it.

At anycase....whoever the victim is, it would be meaningful to know for the family and friends and wishing speedy recovery once again.

A sad news.

Had talked to few frens and relatives in Florida who are sharma;s too. There was an accident but , not as critical as what FL seems to exxaggerate in here. Her name is  Avani Sharma, daughter of Dr.Rajiv and Dr.Shivani Sharma .

Still under observation but out of the critical stage is what i have been told.
