Monarchy may soon creep back to power. Seven Parties especially Maoists screwed up big time by failing to conduct elections on time. People are going to be fed up soon. This illusion about Loktantra and Ganatantra is not going to keep people happy when streets are not being cleaned and people are being robbed and killed in broad day light.
People are going to question the legitimacy of Girija's Government. How is the Seven Party Government different from King's Government? Both were not elected.
I know Kamal Thapa and et. al are crooks and failed to lead Nepal. But how is Prachanda different? How is Girija different?
In Nepali politics, the best position to be in is in opposition. You need to stay low and remain patient. The party in Government is always drunk with power. Slowly, they start making mistakes. However, Government is too arrogant to accept it. People do not care about it. They make bigger and bigger mistakes. Suddenly, people realize that situations have not improved. Then people start looking for an alternative. Then the opposition comes back to power with a BANG using people's frustration as a tool. Drama continues.
This storyline gets repeated all the time in Nepali politics. I will not be surprised if it is repeated once again. Prachanda and Girija are too arrogant to notice it and still basking on the success of the Jana Andolan II. However, I do not know how long they can count on people's support they got two years ago.

What a Irony!
When BP was alive, Mandeles like Kamal Thapa always portrayed BP as traitor and “Indian Dalalâ€. In 2036 when BP and GM Singh went to Hetauda, Kamal Thapa led a group of Mandales and vandalized the stage, where BP supposed to speak and brutally assaulted NC workers. The king and Mandeles never respected BP’s Reconciliation Policy. I guess they were too dumb to understand.
BP died about 3 decade ago and his vision of “Reconciliation†remained incomplete because of arrogance of King and Panchas.
Now, the same opportunist-smooth-talker Kamal Thapa, who called BP “Indial Dalaâ€, is invoking BP’s name for his defense and for his Kings Defense!
All I can say is it is too late.

hahahaha.... agree. kamal thapa is one of the powerful orators in nepali politics. in regards of ability to defend his points and be articulate with his explanations, i will personally put him in top 3 in present nepalo political scene-- right after sher bahadur deuba (hahaha... kidding ) i think sometimes it's imperative in nepali politics, in any politics for that matter, to be able to talk the talk than walk the walk. we nepalese are stupid. if that's too offending a word then i will say "innocent". yeah let's face it, we are innocent/naive. and this is true for the most part even when some of the kathmanduites and those who have migrated to different parts of the globe think otherwise. prachanda said: follow me and i will make your dreams come true. we followed him. this is not a unique case though. we've been doing that since time immemorial. right from P.N. Shah to Junga bahadur, Mahendra to Marich man, girija to prachanda, we've been following them all. now i see some of us, in utter discomfort due to the ongoing political crisis, want to follow Kamal Thapa hahaha. they find his thought process more convincing. What's the big news? we need to see someone's back to be able to move forward, no? we cannot move by ourselves. we are crippled by our own lack of judgment. people who believe in talking rather than actions are futile. they are friction to progression but people who say one thing but end up doing the opposites are misleading. they are even more dangerous. i put Kamal thapa in the second coterie. not only they do change colors cunningly but they do it mischievously. someone said thapa is at least not a flip-flopper. LOL! it's got to be the joke of this decade. the only thing he's being loyal for ever since he was born is monarchy. but for it's longevity and for his personal welfare, he had done numerous switching from one government to the other be it NC+RPP coalition, UML+RPP coalition and the likes. just for the record, he was tagged "whore" by the then politicians and press and other media. now that his master and his authority has been beset by all, he's playing the final card. let it be understood. he says: "nepal will not be able to cope up with the republic structure." why? give me one good reason, will you? if 28 million nepalese cannot save nepal from disintegrating, how can a ceremonial monarch with the likes of gyan bahadur or paras do it? you think we are blind? why you tend to forget people's power. we, if unified, are the greatest of all forces. we don't need to bank on CEREMONIAL MONARCHY to save our sovereignty. period. may kamal thapa and his suppporters understand this. sooner the better. amen

Don't forget that Nepalis are not that advanced that they don't care their Jaat-Paat, Thar, Dharma. Badal, Narayan Pun, and Kamal Thapa come from same family of Thaar, and I will not be surprised that they will be united: excuse each other: Narayan Pun, a royalist army man, royalist minister, and congressi leader, used to let his helicopter carry medicine for Badal's people (Maoist) when Mr. Kamal Thapa was working for Royal Govt.
यहाँ कमल थापा, बादल र नारायण पुन को थर् मिलेनि एउटै जात् होइनन, जहाँ सम्म बादल र नारायन पुन को कुरो छ बादल चैने नारायण पुन को सघोत्रै सालो हुन

I'm not from Kamal thapa's place. I was still in school when these incidents happened. People believe or not there were few people from Hetauda to work for my dad. Kamal Thapa's younger brother Ganesh Thapa came very late in our house in kathmandu to talk to the people from their district. I asked my dad why did Ganesh Thapa came so late to talk to those people? Those few people whom my dad employed were offered money by Ganesh Thapa to participate in his brother's election to reelect him by forcefully by threating and beating the innocent people. Their job were only to hold khukhuris and dandas to threaten the people who were raising the voice against Kamal Thapa. They said Ganesh was ready to invest as many lakhs as possible to reelect his brother and he was looking for some more Gundas. When I heard this I felt what the heack was this? But I was only 12,13 years old and he is not from my place either. I will never forget this incident. If Ganesh Thapa wants the proof, I will present that dai, who worked for my dad. But I don't want to reveal his name as well as the other people who helped Ganesh Thapa at that time. They actually helped Kamal thapa to reelect and they were told by Ganesh Thapa that he would help them whenever they needed his help. So, people do you want to believe this culprit? This culprit knows how to talk doesn't mean he will be a good leader. There is no gaurantee that a great speaker will become a great leader. These leaders are corrupted. They will say and promise anything to get the power back. Don't buy their words. I don't know how we can get a good leader in nepal. All the highly educated and visionaries people do not want to go back to nepal and don't want to involve in politics. Whereas only the corrupted, lip services, muderers and non visionaries want to be leaders to make cash and spend lavish lifestyles. These corrupted kings, leaders have done nothing except destroying and defaming nepal and nepalese.

well Talking about disintegration ..No 28 million Nepali cannot stop Nepal from disintegration neither King. Cause we are so divided. The seeds of hatred has been sown we are just seeing it grow.Make it Republic this hatred is gonna just grow. Thanks to Monarch for ignorance and Thanks to Maoist for Dividing. But the biggest thanks goes to NC and UML cause they are so useless that they could not stop this. Are Nepalese public so smart that they will take right decision?Ask yourself ..rather than saying They are smart. Not all are educated..when i mean educated.I am not tallking about Engineering degree.I am talking about unbaised , articulate and rational. And More over ..will our so called democratic leader even going to give rights to people to Decide ?And they say we have LOKTANTRA!!!

MN_Nepali and Others, I back the thought that country should go for republic. If we can make country republic at least we will eliminate one worst thing that is monarchy. Regarding, who would be the president then? Army should forge with peoples army of maosit ( but not maoist) and country should be run by Army ( Republican army) but not the way in pakistan. The most lacking thing in nepal is system and discipline and I think only army can bring the country back to system. Or, young leaders from all the parties should unite together and form a combined government and run the country for at least 10 years. If we can go for power sharing then only the government can run efficiently after all politics is all about gaining power.

If Nepal want progress, yes it should not be republic. Giving less power to the king is a different idea, but How Can Nepal get a good leader form these political parties. DO u accept Prachande, a great killer as a president? It should continue as the same is what i feel. It is not the king took, but these political leaders and people who gave this much power to king in the constitution. Rajnaitik dal ka neta haru aafule khaneko khadal ma aafai parya hun. Raja lai limited power diyera rakhnu bikul ramro soch ho jaha ek president le raaj garne awasta hunna.
Jaya Nepal!

Gurkha and mta177,
What does Republic mean to you? What does Republic have to offer me or my family?
I do not support monarchy. I totally supported the Jana Andolan II. But how are we better off since Loktantra?
Republic makes sense for politicians because it means less competition for them. But what about Janata? Will a declaration of republic mean that streets will be cleaned? Will people suddenly stop caste discrimination and feudal thoughts after republic declaration? Will killings and lootings stop after republic declaration?
Girija and et al. were selling Loktantra as a solution to all our problems. Only benefit of Loktantra has been to Girija and the political parties since they are in the Government. We janata are worse off. Now, Maoists are trying to sell Ganatantra as the same way. But can some of you Gantantra supporters explain to me how it will benefit a common Nepali citizen? How it will bring changes to our life?

This isnt related to the topic. mta177, All I wanted to show was your ineptness to broader thinking. If this whole stuff of people getting paid by Ganesh thapa is a story, you made a mistake by involving your dad in the story. On the other side, if that really happened, then for sure you dad is his supporter. Try convince him first. Development should start from home.

What the heack you are talking about copycat? My dad is not even a politician. Ganesh Thapa didn't come to meet my dad? Why would he? We didn't know him. As I said he came late night like 11:30 or midnight. We were socked and suprpised to see him in our employee's apartment. We didn't know Ganesh Thapa is younger brother of Kamal Thapa. We all came to know when my dad asked our employee why did Ganesh Thapa was in his apartment. Our employee took off for month to help him . Our employee works as porters in my dad's business and they rented apartments in our house that was when we came to Know who Ganesh and Kamal were. Before this incident we thought Ganesh Thapa was only a football striker. We are not from hetuada. All we know is Kamal Thapa sucks. They will do anything to remain in power. They have salavery mentality.

I don't support terrorist maoist and blood sucker king. What has king done in last hundreds of years? Except fooling people. He and his party always want to put people ignorant and innocent so that people can worship and follow them. They have been creating yes man and one party plateform. I will respect the leader whoever the people elect. I won't support anyone who is good enough to rule simply because he is born in such and such clan. If Ganyendra wants to be in a king, he needs to run for election too. If he wins election, then I have nothing to say. Nepal cannot afford to donate money to Ganye, his son Paras, Paras's wife, Gayne's wife etc. Those salaries come from foreign aids and donations for the development of Nepal. Not to distribute between Gayendra's families and filthy politicians. We can use that money to build schools, hospitals and roads. By the way, Nepal has never got the full democracy. The king was always the most powerful man and he decided who to elect for the cabinets. He had been running the country in the background even though we the people elected the ministers. He sacked the elected prime minister and ministers like his own private property. So, elected ministers and prime ministers were always busy to please the king for their job securities. These elected members never give second thought to work for people and Nepal. In other words they forgot they were elected to work for Nepal and Nepalese. As soon as they were elected King made them slaves. Gayendra is not qualified to be a king. His son is even worst. We need a young fresh blood in politics. Not GP, not Madav Nepal, not terrorist Maoist. GP, and other older politicians needs to retire from politics and give the younger generation the chance to rule. These older politicians first of all don’t have any sound ideas, even if they have one, it is outdated. Everything takes time so, we need to have a faith in our new leaders and give them good amount of time to implement their plans, ideas and visions But their hands need to be clean and not tied with filthy politicians. We need to get out of this King, slavery mentality. We have seen hundreds of years of kingships, they have done nothing. If we still believe that Gayendra and his son Paras will prevail us then wait a day when our country will completely destroy and collapse. Already people are fed up with political systems of Nepal and Nepalese. Nepalese don’t see any hope that is why all the educated, qualified ones are going overseas. This trend is increasing day after day. Our country is loosing all the qualified people, only left are children, women, older men, not qualified ones, filthy pig politicians. If these trends continue, I don’t know what will be the future of Nepal. I don’t even want to imagine that day. Lets trust our guts and be very honest to ourselves when we elect leader. Lets not only elect someone because he is your relative or your dad belongs to such and such party. Be true to yourself when electing a leader. Don’t elect simply him/her that you will make fat cash when he/she wins. Otherwise, the same system will repeat all over again. All we will be doing is looping in a circle like a fool. So, people lets make Nepal Republic and elect the most visionary, highly qualified leader to be a President. Lets give some time to practice his ideas and visions. If he doesn’t act properly and takes bribe, we can sack him anytime. But King we have already seen his days for hundreds of years, it hasn’t worked so we cannot afford to give him a chance again. Most importantly we cannot sack him. Good thing about democracy is we the people can choose our leaders and sack the leaders whenever we want if he doesn't work as he promised to do. Lets Clean Nepal and make Nepal Republic and Get Rid of Older Filthy leaders. It is time to look for highly educated, visionary people to be leaders. Younger generation needs to step up and older generation need to step down.
Jai Nepal
