Ganapati. I don't think the picture you are talking about is that old. I just tried to watch everything closely and looking at the motorbike there we can figure out something. The bike looks like is of new model. Especially when you see the tail of it, it is plastic part. In the early days these parts use to be of iron only. Look at the looking glass also, in early days bikes had round type of looking glass. So i guess this photo should not be more that 15 years old.

Yes.. Solitude le Ganapati ko photo maa dekheko bike Suzuki fiero ho.. that model started around 2000-2001.. so that picture of Ason selling garlands is after 2000 AD ..

Ganapati was talking about the first picture, I guess.  But, yeah the bike is fiero. Anyways, good to see those pictures.

The first picture was taken when the hippies first started to show up in Nepal...

It was taken by a Danish gentleman. He was one of those who followed hippie trail all the way from denmark to afganistan to pakistan , india and then to their final destination NEPAL.........It was probably lates 60s i believe or the early 70s.

It seems ASON used to be as busy a place in those days as it is today. The buildings have remained the same.. only that people have changed the way they dress up.. Nice to see the two photos..

dats look like New York City during early 19th century.  Of course twin tower wasn't built at that time so you won't see it.

ahh BEA Utiful Kathmandu from Swayambhu..... we used to go there just for a peaceful smoke and that tato chiya :P

Swayambhu, thats my favorite hangout place in kathmandu. We used to go there in the evening and enjoy the view for hours. COOl place
