Actually, u r right man...if measured from the centre of the earth...chimborazo from equador is the tallest peak in the world. It is the peak that is farthest away from the centre of the earth.

Steven marlin, not all seven wonders are supposed to be man made.  There are also nominees for natural seven wonders.  Currently seven natural wonder of the world is,

• Grand Canyon
• Great Barrier Reef
• Harbour of Rio de Janeiro
• Mount Everest
• Aurora
• Parícutin volcano
• Victoria Falls

But these wonders listed by CNN is done without consensus. And it is believed to be high time there should be voting as well.

marlin, did you know that there several different catogories in wonder of the world, like natural, artificial and more. like people says little knowledge is harmful, first you get all the information and talk. now who is dumbass. look in the mirror before u point out others.

sorry folks the tallest mountain in the world is Mt Everest the controversy is the tallest is inside the water so the tallest title is given to Mt Everest which was named after sir George Everest...

MT Everest is measured from sea level which makes it the highest mountain. Mauna Loa in Hawaii is measured from under the sea level, which makes it the tallest in the world.

Mount Everest has its name as tallest peak in the world. The peak of the mount everest is the highest point in this planet......It doesnt matter where ever it starts from but it ends as the highest peak...

Mout Everest is the highest peak when measured from the sea level.......however, some mountain start from Sea bed which are infact taller than mount Everest.

Bears if you stand up in a table and yao ming stands on the ground does that make you taller than yao ming ? We have to accept the fact as it is.

Theres is always technicalities between taller or higher. Very difficult to decipher.

Catch me if you can, as far as i know height is mesaured in terms of length........I would say ignroance is bliss.. Nobody is saying mount everest is not the highest peak in the world because the general rule of thumb is measuing the height from the sea level. But there are moutains like Mauna Kea, Mount Chimborazo which are much taller than mount everest. We all are proud of mount everest but Vanity is never good.  We also have to accept the fact that chimborazo is taller  but not the highest peak on the world. Tyasai afnu blood pressure badaune kaam nagara.
