Happy new year to all Nepali Friends and Family. Due to my job relocation, I need to move to Portsmouth, NH. I was wondering if any Nepali Family are there so that I can get important informations about Apartments and good location.

There are good numbers of Nepalese in that vicinity. I know some who live in Dover, New Market, Barringto, and Rochester. Dover is the closest one to Portsmouth, I think. Portsmouth is a beautiful small town and very close to the ocean. You can google for apartment info.

Thanks for your information. I did google some apartments, and I found two of them : 1. Sagamore Court, 2. Beachstone Apartment. So was wondering if Nepali family and friends could guide me more whether to stay at those apartments or look for other apartments near to downtown.

Once I read ' which brand of Nepali people you are looking for"????. I am guessing more than 30 families live in that vicinity. Go find people and search from surename. Shrestha, lama, limbu, thapa, gautam, Nepal, rimal, bista, rayamajhi, acharya, pokhrel, KC, dangol, hoda, and so on.

 

I do not know any Nepali currently living in either place. I have seen Sagamore Ct Apt when a Nepali family that I knew was living there a few years back. The place looked pretty basic to me. The real estate in Portsmouth is quite expensive that includes renting apartments. Resident ratings in the Internet may shed some light. I live about an hour away from Portsmouth and do not frequent there, wish I could, and do not know people living there.  As I  told you earlier that  it is a very  beautiful city by a harbor and a river, your will probably like the place. Easy access to a highway, historic sites,  proximity of Kittery Maine outlet malls, and beaches are definitely notable pros. Expensinve housing and very cold weather are the major cons.

Karki, Bist, Pokhrel, Shrestha, Hada , Hoda, Sharma, Koirala, Rayamajhi, Gautam. Rana, Chhetri , Acharya. Rai, Lama, Sherpa, Giri, Thapa, Regmi, Timilsina, Dhakal and so on. Small state but populated by Nepali.
Do not forget to visit downtown Indian restaurant, you will gather more info about US ( NEPALI)
